“The host was very friendly and welcoming.”

We were given milk, biscuits, coffee and cava as a welcome gift and tea and sugar was available to us. The barn was beautifully furnished with plenty of kitchen utensils and nice and warm. We were x2 couples and whilst the main bedroom was an adequate size, the second bedroom is very small with x2 single beds. Good location to get out and about to surrounding areas for walks.

The bespoke and well-equipped kitchen sits at one end with integrated Bosch electric oven, induction hob, extractor, under counter fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher, and freestanding microwave. A solid oak table with six chairs sits between the kitchen and living space which is furnished with a three-seater leather Chesterfield sofa with matching armchair and an Ercol rocking chair, plus occasional tables with lamps and a wall-mounted TV. Master Bedroom Wake to the dawn chorus with bi-fold windows opening onto the moat and woodland beyond. The bed is king-size with two bedside tables, a single wardrobe with drawers, and a ladder desk/dressing table with mirror and light. Outside Red Poll Barn sits next to another self-catering cottage, Milk Parlour, which can be booked in conjunction to accommodate six guests. There's an additional holiday property opposite, Rookyards making it a great option for friends and family, although the dining and sitting areas aren't big enough for all ten guests to congregate comfortably. This stunning self-catering holiday home is surrounded by countryside with an abundance of wildlife including muntjac deer, bats, badgers, squirrels and many birds for you to identify from the comfort of your own private south facing sun deck which overlooks the moat with a wooden bridge across to the woodland and the pond just next door – an idyllic spot to sit with a good book or simply watch the wildlife.
