Picket House at Aldeburgh

The entrance hall opens into a large light living room with an open fireplace and bi-fold doors leading to a sunny patio with steps to the garden with a shed with gas BBQ and games. Guests will enjoy socialising in the spacious open plan kitchen/dining room with newly fitted, fully equipped modern kitchen. There is also a second sitting room on the ground floor for family members who need a bit of peace and quiet, as well as a double bedroom and shower room, ideal as granny/teenager accommodation!

Accommodation on the first floor consists of an additional four generous sized bedrooms comprising a king with large en suite bathroom and three twin rooms and a family bathroom.

This semi-detached holiday home is set back from the road behind a gravelled area, offering ample parking for two cars.

Ground floor

Entrance Hall

The front door opens off the gravel driveway into the porch with the living room door straight ahead.

Living room

This spacious room is wonderful throughout the year with French doors opening onto the sunny private patio and an wood burner effect fire for guests to enjoy in the winter months. The room is comfortably furnished with three sofas, a coffee table and a rug on the bleached wooden floor. Equipment includes a TV, DVD and Bluetooth music system. Stairs rise to the first floor and doors lead to the kitchen/dining room and the cloakroom.

Kitchen/Dining room

This is a super open plan kitchen/dining room/sitting room – ideal for families and groups of friends wanting to congregate over a home cooked meal (or take-away!). The newly installed kitchen has wooden units with laminate work surfaces and integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer and washer dryer. There is a large Range Master dual fuel cooker with two ovens, a gas hob plus a microwave. The beautiful elm table with matching benches giving ample seating for ten guests.

Sun Room

At the back of the kitchen/dining room, this lovely sunny conservatory style room has a glass door to the patio and a window seat for enjoying the last rays of the day, with extra storage for indoor games.

Leading off the sun room with doors to the shower room, ground floor bedroom and second sitting room.

Second sitting room

A great place for the kids to go when you (or they) need some peace and quiet! The room is furnished with two sofas and a TV/DVD

Ground floor bedroom

Along the eastern wing is separated granny/teenager accommodation with a bedroom with double bed and wardrobe. The room has windows overlooking the garden.

Ground floor shower room

With corner shower, WC and washbasin.

First Floor

Stairs lead from the living room to the first floor landing with the four bedrooms and family bathroom opening off it.

Bedroom 1

A large and bright bedroom with triple aspect windows and king size bed.

Ensuite bathroom

This large modern bathroom has huge walk in shower, washbasin, WC plus a window facing northeast giving daylight.

Bedroom 2

This spacious twin room overlooks the garden facing south.

Bedroom 3

A twin bedded room overlooking the drive at the front of the house, with built in wardrobe.

Bedroom 4

A bright bedroom overlooking the garden, this room also has twin beds.

Family bathroom

Conveniently located off the landing with easy access from the three first floor bedrooms, the room had a bath, a separate corner shower cubicle, washbasin and WC.


The large gravel drive gives ample space for two cars with additional roadside parking in front if required. This semi-detached holiday home is set back from the road, shielded by a hedge and picket fence, with an attractive lavender border next to the house. There’s a gate at the side of the house which leads to the garden, and a path where guests can leave bikes out of sight from the road

Picket House has a fabulous secluded and sunny south facing garden at the back with bi-fold (double) doors from the living room and another door from the sun room, giving easy access to the kitchen, making this the perfect place for dining in the fresh air with a gas BBQ provided. The garden has a paved patio area with a raised lawn area, fenced and bordered by mature shrubs and trees.

There is a shed stocked with garden chairs, a gas BBQ and outdoor games for guests to enjoy.

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity, plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

This comfortable semi-detached self-catering holiday house is equipped with gas central heating and appliances include two TVs with FreeSat HD+, a Bluetooth music system, Blue Ray, DVD player, Digital radio with Bluetooth and the house has wi-fi.

The kitchen is well equipped with a dual fuel range cooker with gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.

A travel cot and high chair are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking.
This spacious Suffolk holiday home is located within a short walk of the beach and the heart of the picturesque town of Aldeburgh, with it’s excellent restaurants, pubs, cafes and wide range of independent shops, convenience stores, art galleries and huts along the beach where local fishermen sell their wares.

The area is excellent for cycling, sailing or golf and there are many interesting walks and places to visit, including the nearby Aldeburgh Marshes, picture-postcard village of Thorpeness, the world renowned Snape Maltings and town of Southwold with it’s iconic Pier.
The owners regret that no pets, no smoking or unaccompanied teenagers are allowed at this property.
Once you have filled out the online booking form, you will be given the option to pay by credit or debit card, or by BACs transfer. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking to secure your booking. The balance and a returnable good housekeeping deposit are due six weeks before your holiday commences.
