A unique feature at this holiday home is the luxurious 12m x 4m private indoor swimming pool (heated throughout the year) located just a short walk from the Old Hen where there are changing rooms and a secluded patio and furniture for you to sit and relax. The owners of Ubbeston Lodge and other guests also have access to the pool so you’re asked to book a free exclusive slot in advance for half an hour daily per night booked so you can make the most of this super asset. This exceptionally spacious single storey accommodation sits on a private estate with an idyllic walk around the perimeter of the estate. There's off road parking for three cars (one beside the ramp leading to the side door of Cocky Hen) and two enclosed courtyard style gardens down some steps at the front so you can make the most of good weather when you’ve finished exploring the coast or surrounding countryside.
There are two doors into this super self-catering studio accommodation, one at the side and the other up stone stairs at the front, both open into the light and airy open plan living space.

The swimming pool is available for half an hour daily per night booked with an additional 10 minutes before and 15 minutes after your swim for changing in a private changing room with toilet, shower and hair dryer. Additional slots are available at £15 per half hour. Don't forget costumes, goggles and pool towels. No food or drink is allowed by the pool.

This hidden gem is an ideal base from which to explore East Anglia with picturesque coastal villages, stretches of beaches dotted with strings of iconic huts and market towns. The historic town of Framlingham with iconic Norman castle just eight miles away. Halesworth, which provides day to day shopping and recreational facilities is seven miles where you can play golf or ride at the Mells Equestrian Centre and there’s opportunities to go cycling, fishing, walking or sailing nearby.
Southwold is a must visit with a sandy beach, famous pier and excellent range of shops and restaurants plus, for beer lovers, it is home to the famous Adnams Brewery. Beautiful walks can be enjoyed at Dunwich forest, Dunwich Heath and Minsmere bird reserve and the pretty coastal village of Walberswick are all approximately twelve miles away.
The swimming pool is 12m x 4m and 1.3m deep; it is unsupervised so all guests will have to sign a disclaimer before use. Please contact the owners to book slots, these are available for half an hour daily with an additional 15 minutes use of a private changing room with toilet, shower and hair dryer before and after your swim. Additional slots are available at £15 per half hour. There are life rings and some inflatables and pool toys are provided but you may want to bring your own and don't forget costumes, goggles and pool towels. No food or drink is allowed by the pool.
Old Hen is designed and furnished to provide easy access for all guests, including those with mobility issues, without compromising on style or comfort. There’s a ramp from the drive to the front door; with parking beside the ramp. Doors are wide enough for a standard wheelchair; the wet room has space beside the high level toilet, a grab rail and emergency pull cord.
A well-behaved dog is welcome and subject to our terms and conditions on request at the time of booking and is subject to our conditions of booking. An additional dog may be considered by the owners, there will however be an additional cost of £25 per additional dog to cover extra cleaning costs.

Once you have filled out the online booking form, you will be given the option to pay by credit or debit card, or by BACs transfer.
