Located opposite the church with the high street and sea just yards away, this light and airy holiday house has a lot to offer for a seaside holiday or weekend away. Millicent House is part of the original Grade II listed Uplands Hotel, once home to Britain’s first woman Mayor, Millicent Fawcett.

Enjoyed dinner at both the Lighthouse (twice) and the Regatta. Visited Southwold, Thorpeness and had a lovely lunch at the Sole Bay Fish Company on the Estuary at Southwold – a must for shellfish lovers! The open plan dining room sits at the heart of the house with stairs rising to the first floor and lovely light living room, well-equipped kitchen, shower room, and ground floor bedroom surrounding it. Two additional tastefully furnished bedrooms sit on the first floor, each with en-suite.

Off road parking in Aldeburgh is a great asset and this holiday home has two allocated spaces. And the sunny south facing garden is the icing on the cake! Mostly laid to lawn with well-established beds stocked with shrubs and flowers and a hedge for privacy on the patio which is furnished with a table and chairs.

Ground floor
A porch opens into the dining room with double doors to the patio, stairs and doors to the kitchen and living room. The ground floor bedroom is through the kitchen with a separate door to the shower room. Floors are mainly wooden.

Dining
Ideal for formal or relaxed entertaining, with a Bluetooth speaker to put you in the mood! The sturdy table has six attractive Lloyd Lloom style chairs and double doors open onto the patio. making it easy to eat in the open air on sunny days.

Living Room
An elegant room, where windows and paned doors on all four sides let light in throughout the day. Furnished with a large comfy sofa, chairs and occasional tables; the TV has BT entertainment including sports, and Netflix.

Kitchen
Deep and wide sash windows overlooking the drive make this a light and airy room, conveniently next to the dining room and with ample space to prepare meals. Units run along three sides, housing a built-in fridge with three drawer freezer beneath, electric oven at eye level, plus additional mini oven/grill, five ring gas hob, dishwasher, washer dryer and microwave.

Ground Floor Bedroom
With window to the west, this attractive room’s well suited for guests with a mobility problem. The king size bed has bedside tables and there’s a wardrobe with drawer under, dressing table and chair

Shower Room
Conveniently off the kitchen so good for guests during the day, as well as being equivalent to an en-suite for guests in the ground floor bedroom. The shower cubicle has a hand shower on an adjustable pole, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail.

First floor
Carpeted stairs rise from the dining room to a spacious first-floor landing where you’ll find both bedrooms.

Master Bedroom
A super king size bed takes pride of place in this exceptionally large bedroom with wide windows and feature fireplace. There’s ample storage in a built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables, plus seating.

Master En-Suite
Modern shower room with ornate stained glass window, a walk-in shower, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail.

Twin Bedroom
Although smaller, this bedroom has the benefit of a garden view. Bedside tables with drawers sit on either side of the beds and there’s a built-in wardrobe with shelves and hanging space.

En-Suite Bathroom
This en-suite has a bath with shower over and shower screen, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail.

Outside
This semi-detached house has two allocated parking spaces close to the front door with a path leading round to the south facing garden. There’s a good sized lawn with well-stocked borders and hedge giving some privacy to the patio which is accessed from both the dining room and living room, giving a great indoor/outdoor style of living. A table and chairs make alfresco eating easy on this sun trap and there’s additional casual seating where you can chill with a good book.

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity, plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

This self-catering holiday cottage is equipped with central heating and has a TV with Netflix in the living room, a blue tooth speaker and Wifi. The kitchen is well equipped with built-in fridge with three drawer freezer beneath, electric oven at eye level, plus additional mini oven/grill, five ring gas hob, dishwasher, washer dryer and microwave.

A travel cot and high chair are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking.

Aldeburgh is a very popular seaside town for traditional holidays and short breaks and this elegant holiday home sits on Victoria Road, almost opposite the church, being a short walk from the high street and the long shingle beach with promenade bordered by the iconic colourful seaside houses and the fisherman's huts, where you can buy fresh fish. There's a wide range of shops, boutiques, galleries, an independent cinema, restaurants, cafes, pubs and hotels along the high street.

Renowned for its cultural history, guests can enjoy a range of activities in the town and at nearby Snape Maltings, with the Annual Festival for Music, art exhibitions, literary and poetry festivals.

There are stunning sea and landscapes to be enjoyed on walks around the lowland marsh close to the cottage, heathland and the coastal path to Thorpeness with opportunities for sailing, golfing and cycling locally.

A well-behaved dog is welcome. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.
