Magenta at Aldeburgh

Magenta is located in a prime position along Aldeburgh Crag Path, with uninterrupted sea views, with the stable door on the ground floor and Juliet balcony on the first floor, allowing you to make the most of the views, as well as being located just steps away from the main High Street.

Downstairs there is a sitting room with an open-plan kitchen-dining room beyond, upstairs there is a super-king bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and an interchangeable room where you can opt for two full-size singles or a super-king with an en-suite shower room.

It is reputed that James M Barrie, author of Peter Pan once stayed here.

Ground Floor
From Aldeburgh’s seafront a stable door opens into the sitting room.

Sitting room
The front stable door leads from the seafront into the living room where a large sash window looks out to the beach. There are two comfy two-seater sofas and a coffee table. A 32-inch Panasonic LCD TV is provided with FreeSat and Sky. The property has ‘Sky Q’ which features Sky sports, entertainment, box sets and also children’s channels. A Blu-ray DVD player, NUVO integrated sound system, which plays throughout the house, including Internet radio and Spotify to select a vast library of music and an iPod dock to access your own music. A step leads down to the kitchen-dining room.

Kitchen/Dining Room
This large open plan room has a dining table and seating for six people, the bespoke hand-made kitchen with granite worktops has top of the range Miele appliances including an integrated microwave combination oven, an induction hob, Teppanyaki plate, integrated fan-assisted oven, plate and food warming drawer, a larder fridge freezer with ice and water dispenser, integrated dishwasher and a washer/dryer. The kitchen also has a 32-inch Panasonic LCD TV. There are bi-folding doors to the enclosed patio creating an open plan space with the outside.

Cloakroom
Off the dining area is a small room with a hand basin and W.C.

First Floor
Stairs lead from the sitting room to the first-floor landing.

Bedroom One
With breathtaking sea views, this room has a super-king size bed, a bistro table with two chairs positioned in front of the French doors leading onto a Juliet balcony – the doors can be opened and locked at any angle - overlooking Aldeburgh beach. There are matching bedside tables with lamps, a wall mounted Sony TV and a built-in wardrobe that has both hanging space and drawers.

En-Suite Bathroom
En-suite to Bedroom 1, this room enjoys sea views and has a Vitra designer bath with an Aqualisa Axis overhead shower, hand basin, and W.C.

Bedroom Two
This room allows either a super-king bed or two full-size single beds. In the room are two bedside tables with matching lamps and a built-in wardrobe that has both hanging space and drawers. Doors open to a flat roof so you can enjoy sea breezes, however there is a railing preventing access for safety reasons.

En-Suite Shower Room
En-suite to Bedroom 2 is a shower room, which has a large 800mm by 700mm shower and a built-in seat. There is also a hand basin and W.C.

Outside
There is a small courtyard that extends from the kitchen/diner with room to store bicycles, and access onto King Street. In the property there are two deck chairs, two stools, a windbreak and a beach bag for guest use. On-road parking is usually available immediately outside the house or in nearby side streets.

Whats Included?

All rental prices include bed linen and towels, gas and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

This self-catering Aldeburgh holiday cottage is equipped with under floor heating on the ground floor and gas central heating on the first floor. Kitchen appliances include an integrated Miele microwave combination oven, Miele induction hob, Teppanyaki plate, Miele integrated fan-assisted electric oven, a Miele plate and food warming drawer, a large Fisher Paykel fridge freezer with ice and water dispenser, integrated Miele dishwasher and a Miele washer/dryer. The kitchen and sitting room have 32-inch Panasonic LCD TVs with FreeSat, a Blu-ray DVD player, an integrated sound system throughout the house with Internet radio and Spotify which allows you to play any song or artist you wish and an iPod Dock, to allow you to play your own music. The house has fast WiFi and an iPad 2 is supplied to browse the Internet and control the Nuvo Music System. The stairs and first floor bedrooms are carpeted, the sitting room has wood floors with a rug and the kitchen-diner and en-suites have tiled flooring.

The property has access to Sky. As of 13th March the property will be upgraded to Sky Q which will feature Sky sports, entertainment, box sets and also childrens channels.

Doors open from the back bedroom onto a flat roof however there is a railing preventing access for safety reasons. There are also doors opening onto a Juliette balcony from the master bedroom.

A picnic basket, windbreak, two stools and two deck chairs are provided to help make your holiday even more memorable.

A travel cot and highchair are provided for your use.

This self-catering Aldeburgh holiday cottage has an enviable position on the sea front with breathtaking sea views. The town’s boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries are just a couple of minutes away

Please note that the main staircase is quite steep with a low handrail.
