Originally the Lloyds Bank building, the living and dining rooms are now an excellent space for socialising with friends and family, with double doors between the two and both with wood burners to take off the chill in the cooler months. The sunny kitchen sits at the back of the cottage, opening to the garden and the large modern bathroom is off the inner hall. A touch of class has been introduced into both of the bedrooms on the first floor, one with king size bed and the other with zip and link beds giving you the choice of double or twin beds.
Wickham Market, a bustling market town, is a great location for exploring all that the beautiful Suffolk coast and countryside has to offer. You’ll find the courtyard garden a great place to relax with a good book and there's ample parking in the long stay car park close by.
The front door opens into a porch with bench with shoe storage; there are also doors from the living room to the road and from the kitchen to the garden. The ground floor’s surprisingly spacious for four guests with double doors between the living and dining rooms which both have wood effect floors. The kitchen/breakfast room sits at the back with door to the inner hall with carpeted stairs to the first floor and doors to the bathroom and cellar.
Sitting in the middle of Kiln Cottage, this elegant room with wood burner set in the impressive fireplace, has a sturdy dining table with four leather chairs, occasional tables and a large desk with chair for those needing to do a spot of work or studying. Doors open to the porch and inner hall.

You can park close to the cottage to offload then find space for your car on a road close by or in the long stay car park off market square for approximately £1.50 per day. Wickham Market provides an excellent range of shopping and local facilities including E.W Revett and Son; a quality butcher (birthplace to award-winning traditional sausages), baker, wine merchant and delicatessen; a supermarket opposite, open till 8pm on most days; a bustling open-air monthly market; and Inspirations – a treasure trove of a shop providing a wide selection of inspiring gift ideas. The adjacent village of Pettistree (just over a mile away) has a beautiful 14th Century Village Inn where you can enjoy pub classics alongside local game, with local ales.
Kiln Cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the Suffolk Heritage Coast with the picturesque coastal town of Aldeburgh just 12 miles away, popular Orford ten miles and Snape Maltings holding internationally renowned cultural events throughout the year such as the Aldeburgh Festival, just eight miles. The Estuaries of the Deben and Alde provide water sports facilities and leisure activities such as sailing, cycling, golf and walking.
Woodbridge lies some 5 miles to the south and is set on the banks of the River Deben. The county town of Ipswich lies nine miles to the south with regular train services to London Liverpool Street. Campsea Ashe (1.5 miles) also provides rail links to London Liverpool Street.
The owners are happy to allow up to THREE well-behaved dogs to stay. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.
Whilst the courtyard garden is fully enclosed you are responsible for children or dogs.
The stairs are relatively steep however they’re wide and there’s a handrail to the top.
