Hemmet with Guest Wing at Wrentham

There's nothing this beautiful house with guest wing doesn't offer friends and families in a holiday home. Open plan living, another cosy sitting room with a wood burner for cooler days, four well proportioned bedrooms on the first floor and a completely independent guest wing for couples. Tucked away up a little lane, Hemmet (meaning Home, in Swedish) offers parking for at least three cars, an enclosed courtyard garden and further garden to the side laid to lawn and over looking uninterrupted Suffolk farm land. You'll be warm with the underfloor heating throughout the ground floor. The light fittings in this house are exquisite and enhance the calming and rejuvenating ambiance you'll feel without a doubt when you arrive. You can't help but notice and appreciate the owners' interesting selection of house plants, which include a 'monkey face' and a carnivorous 'monkey jug'.

Ground Floor
As you park and head to the left of the house you'll find the door to the utility room which leads to the kitchen/dining/living room all with large white polished tiles underfoot. Around to the left is the entrance hall with WC, stairs to the first floor and a door to the living room.

Open Plan Kitchen/Dining/Living Room
A spacious and thoughtfully designed room divided into three separate areas; a kitchen, dining area and living space with a wall of bifolding doors opening out to the South facing garden. This bright and sociable room offers guests a sophisticated retreat to relax in and enjoy each others company.

Kitchen
A magnificent space with huge central island, chefs will be in culinary heaven whilst staying at Hemmet. White shiny units run along the right side under the window, with butlers sink, integrated dishwasher and white granite work surfaces. Tall cupboard units housing two waist height ovens with grill and an integrated fridge/freezer. The four ring ceramic hob with hot plate sits centrally in the island unit with lots of storage and barstools on the other side.

DIning
Along the left side of the room which is decorated with curiously beautiful wallpaper, will be a dining table with two benches and extra chairs, seating up to 10. Families and friends can enjoy long lazy lunches and jolly evening meals at this table which is beside the living area.

Living Area
A large soft and comfortable turquoise corner sofa and snuggle chair surround the enormous entertainment unit with smart TV in the living area. For cosy evenings or quiet reading guests have the option to relax in the separate living room at the front of the property with wood burning stove.

Utility Room
Such a practical room with tiled floor, a door to the garden, cupboards with hanging space and shelves, a washing machine and separate tumble dryer. Guests are encouraged to use this as the main entrance after country walks and days out at the beach.

Living Room
Carpeted and with large thick curtains this elegant living room has double doors to the front of the property and two further windows. The modern wood burning stove creates a cosy feel and there will be two soft leather sofas and armchairs for guests to curl up on. For your entertainment there's a big flat screen smart TV surrounded by shelving and cupboards beneath filled with books and games.

First Floor
Wide carpeted stairs with bannister and hand rail rise to the first floor landing which leads to two double bedrooms, a twin, a single and the family bathroom.

Master Bedroom
Couples will enjoy peaceful slumber in this chic and sophisticated bedroom with glazed doors to the balcony, overlooking the uninterrupted view of Suffolk farm land. Step out onto the balcony for coffee or breakfast and soak up the sun's rays before venturing out on one of those action packed days or laid back sightseeing strolls. The solid wooden king size bed sits centrally between beside tables with lamps. There's ample storage for clothes in the drawers and wall of wardrobes beside the en suite shower room.

En Suite Shower Room
A door leads from the master bedroom into the en suite shower room with large rain shower, WC and handbasin.

Family Bathroom
Located centrally off the landing is the modern family bathroom. A very bright room with frosted glass windows along one wall. The bath has a shower over and glass screen, the basin and WC are set in a vanity unit with storage on top and in cupboards.

Double Bedroom
A cosy bedroom with cast iron double bed placed under the velux window with blind. Guests have plenty of storage in the built in wardrobe and chest of drawers however there is restricted head height on one side of the bed due to the sloping ceiling.

Twin Bedroom
Beside the double bedroom is the twin which will have two single beds. Another velux window with blind lets the sunshine flood in and there's ample storage in the built in wardrobes.

Single Bedroom
Located across the landing from the family bathroom is the single bedroom, with panoramic views over the Suffolk countryside. The room will have a standard size single bed, hanging and drawer storage.

Outside
The garden wraps around the house with fully enclosed lawn to the right, beside farm land. Gates to either side of the house lead to the rear South facing courtyard garden, which is fully enclosed by attractive brick walls and fencing. Landscaped with raised beds full of wild flowers and herbs, this garden also offers guests three places to sit and enjoy the sunshine. The wall of bifolding doors open from the kitchen/dining/living room to the top section of the patio where everyone can sit and enjoy alfresco dining from the charcoal BBQ.

Guest Wing
This cosy, open plan annexe features a kitchenette, a shower room and dining space for two people and a small double bed. A great space for younger members of the group to chill out or study or for perhaps older members as it's all on one level. The shower room is snug and the shower itself has restricted head height and may not be suitable for taller members of the group.

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity, plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

This detached self-catering holiday house is equipped with central heating, air conditioning on the first floor and has a wood burner. There's Wifi and appliances include TVs in living area and seperate living room. The kitchen is well equipped with two electric ovens with grills, a ceramic hob with four rings and a warming plate and extractor over; a large intrgrated fridge/freezer; integrated dishwasher and microwave on the worktop. There's also a washing machine and a dryer in the utility room and charcoal BBQ for summer use.

The Guest Wing is open plan with a snug shower room. The kitchenette has a kettle, toaster and a fridge.

A travel cot, high chair and stair gate are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking.
Wrentham is a village in the Waveney district of north-east Suffolk, less than five miles from the picturesque and vibrant seaside town of Southwold with many eateries, an iconic pier and long stretch of sandy beach.

The hamlet of Covehithe is less than two miles away, boasting a peaceful stretch of sand backed by crumbling golden cliffs with smooth, blanched sculpture-like tree trunks - a beautiful place to walk or have a picnic. Benacre Broad is also close by; a brackish lagoon and conservation area.

The village itself has several shops and a couple of pubs, with the busy market town of Beccles, approximately six miles away, which has a good range of supermarkets, independent shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as a market selling fresh produce every Friday and a train station with links to London Liverpool Street via Ipswich.

Pleasurewood Hills, a very popular theme park with over 35 rides, is only a few miles away. With rides for little children, families and thrill rides for the adrenaline junkies, Pleasurewood Hills promises an action packed outing for everyone.

Another exciting day out is Africa Alive. Set in 100 acres of stunning Suffolk countryside, Africa Alive has five species of African savannah animals including giraffes and lions. The park is also home to some rather amazing primates including bushbabies and the rare golden-bellied mangabeys. There are great indoor and outdoor adventure play areas as well as restaurants, free parking and a gift shop.

If you are visiting between November - February a trip to Horsey Beach is a must. Here you can witness breathtaking views of the hundreds of grey seals filling the beach, a site that children will absolutely love to see as much as you.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome downstairs. If you wish to bring a dog/s they must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking. The house is particularly dog friendly as you can easily contain them in the main living area which has hard flooring; they can be brought directly into the utility room to be dried before shaking wet fur over the furniture, or can be left safely in the enclosed garden.

The rear garden is landscaped and on different levels so please keep an eye on small children with the few steps. The lawned area to the side of the property may be more suitable for small children to play.

There is restricted head height in some of the first floor rooms due to sloping ceilings. We have displayed this in the photographs.

The stairs are carpeted and have a bannister and hand rail.

In The Guest Wing is a cosy annex suitable for guests with restricted mobilty although there are a couple of steps up to the front door and a small step into the shower room. The shower itself does have restricted head height and may not be suitable for taller memmbers of the group.
