Fisherman's Loft is located in the dunes between the Aldeburgh Road and the sea. An unmarked road leads to the property which is fenced and has parking for two cars through the five bar gate.
A rustic garden surrounds the house; there's a courtyard giving access to the playroom. However the best places for enjoying the sea are the two balconies on the first floor off the kitchen area, allowing guests to enjoy the sun as it moves round. The north east facing balcony is furnished with a table and eight chairs.
All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity, plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.
This self-catering holiday home is equipped with gas fired/electric central heating. Appliances include two TVs with Sky, a DVD player and iPod docking station. The kitchen is well equipped with all new white goods, two under counter fridges plus a bar fridge in the games room. There's a free standing microwave and a dishwasher in the kitchen, plus a washing machine in the utility room.
A travel cot and high chair are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking.
Thorpeness, a charming holiday village largely designed by the Scottish playwright and barrister Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie a century ago, is just a mile and a half along the beach from Aldeburgh with it’s excellent eateries, pubs, variety of shops, art galleries and independent cinema.
Designed as an idyllic model seaside village, inspired by the writings of JM Barrie, author of Peter Pan, Thorpeness is a truly unique destination and guests are sure to enjoy Meare (local for lake) with several miles of shallow water and islands which can be explored in the summer months by rowing boat or kayak.
A number of shops and eateries, including the village shop and excellent Dolphin Inn (both walking distance from Fisherman's Loft), The Kitchen and popular Meare café are within walking distance. The iconic House in the Clouds, hovering on the skyline, the shingle beach and Country Club with tennis courts and games rooms, often available during half term holidays as well as the summer months are just a pebble’s throw away.
For the sporting visitors, there’s an award winning 18-hole golf course and the area is ideal for cycling and walking, both along the coast and inland.
Fisherman's Loft is ideal for children and family holidays, however the owners do not welcome unaccompanied teenagers and children must be supervised on the balcony and in the rustic garden where they are advised to wear shoes due to the recent renovation and any sharp objects which may have been overlooked in the clean up.
A well-behaved dog is welcome, if you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.
Once you have filled out the online booking form, you will be given the option to pay by credit or debit card, or by BACs transfer.
