The accommodation’s incredibly spacious for four, both inside and out, with two generous sized bedrooms, a lofty open plan living space designed for relaxing with friends and family at any time of the year, and a big enclosed garden where children and pets can enjoy some freedom, surrounded by private land.

"Stables nicely converted into 2-bedroom holiday cottage in a lovely quiet location. Comfortable beds and sofas, well-equipped kitchen, characterful and effective log burner. Plenty of outdoor garden space with room for small kids to ride their bikes. Well located for Southwold, Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings, Sutton Hoo, Banham Zoo, Africa Alive, Minsmere and Dunwich Nature Reserves, Framlingham Castle, the southern side of the Broads."

Guests are welcomed into a long hallway stretching along the front of this detached property, with the shower room, both bedrooms and the light and airy living space opening off it.

Named after the many resident doves whose symbol is peace, Dovecotes sits down a tree-lined drive taking you away from the road to an enclosed garden with outside dining furniture. There’s ample parking and, at the rear, two double doors open onto a graveled area with a bistro style table and chairs, where you can sit and hear the doves cooing.

Ground floor:
This property is single-storey, however there is a couple of steps up from the living space to the entrance hall. Beautiful reclaimed brick flooring from the original stables runs through the ‘reception areas’ with carpet in the bedrooms. Accommodation’s particularly light with one set of double doors at the front and two sets at the back.

Living Space
This double height room is designed for enjoying time with your loved ones; combining a U shaped kitchen, dining area with circular table and four chairs, plus sitting area with a couple of comfy sofas with coffee table and Smart TV on a unit in the corner. A smart modern wood burner and two sets of double doors to the owners' courtyard, make this a great space at any time of the year!

The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven with ceramic hob and extractor, under counter fridge, free-standing small freezer and microwave, slim-line dishwasher and washer/dryer.

Twin Bedroom
Wake to the sound of the doves in this room which has windows overlooking the courtyard. Furnished with twin beds and table between them, a large wardrobe with drawer and dressing table with a wicker chair.

Double Bedroom
Also at the back of Dovecotes, this room has a double bed with bedside units, large wardrobe with a couple of drawers a dressing table and wicker chair.

Bathroom
Sitting at the end of the entrance hall, with easy access from both bedrooms and the living space, this room has a double walk-in shower, washbasin, WC and heated towel rail.

Outside
Dovecotes is located on two acres of private land, down a tree-lined drive taking you away from the road to an enclosed garden. Whilst there are two acres of private land surrounding the house which you’re welcome to explore, you’ll have your own fully fenced private garden, mostly laid to lawn with outside dining set and a BBQ, where you can totally relax. There’s ample parking and, at the rear, two double doors open onto a gravelled area, with a bistro style table and chairs where you can sit and hear the doves cooing.

Whats Included?

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity, plus a welcome bottle of wine, pastries, milk and homemade jam to help you get your break off to a relaxing start. There's a TV with FreeSat channels in the living space and Wifi. Logs for the wood burner will be supplied for your first night and you can buy more from the owners during your stay.

A travel cot and high chair are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking.

The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven with ceramic hob and extractor, under counter fridge, free-standing small freezer and microwave, slim-line dishwasher and washer/dryer. There's also a simple tray charcoal BBQ for your use in the garden.
Metfield (derived from Meadow Field) is a sleepy village on the Suffolk Norfolk border, with an excellent community shop selling luxury treats, budget essentials, local beers and wines, artisan breads, gifts and lots more! There are a couple of pubs to choose from with the Fox and Goose in Fressingfield (circa four miles) serving excellent local food, ales and wine; Sir Alfred Munnings at Mendham, approx three miles away and a local bar at the Metfield Village Hall on Friday and Saturday evenings.

This self-catering holiday home is just over half an hours drive from the bustling coastal town of Southwold and beautiful beach of Covehithe. The towns of Halesworth, Diss and Harleston are closer; the latter being a vibrant market town filled with historic buildings and an impressive array of independent shops, chemist, delicatessen and several coffee shops.

Those who enjoy messing about on the river can head up to the Norfolk Broads and hire a boat for the day.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.
