Crabbe House at Aldeburgh

This stylish Aldeburgh accommodation by the sea is a first-floor apartment that has WIFI access, accessed via its own front door on Aldeburgh High Street, which leads into an entrance hall with coat hooks. The stairs lead up to the landing above, with doors to all the other rooms. Particular features of this property is the fabulous sea-facing balcony and the lovely open plan living, kitchen, dining room, which has a fully equipped kitchen, two windows with sea views, and a real flame gas stove. There is also a double bedroom with sea views and the door to the balcony, a twin bedroom, a bunk room, a shower room, and a bathroom with a short four-foot bath and a shower.

Ground Floor
This first-floor apartment is above The Aldeburgh Book Shop at 40 High Street and is accessed through its own front door into a hall which leads to the stairs to the first floor.

First Floor
At the top of the stairs is a landing which leads to the twin bedroom and master bedroom. The shower room is accessed from this landing by a few steps. Another few steps from this landing lead to another landing that has the kitchen/ sitting/dining room, the bunk-bed room and the bathroom with a shower and a small bath.

Kitchen/Sitting/Dining Room
This open space has two large windows with views of the sea, a large handmade kitchen which features a Silestone worktop, all Bosch appliances including: an integrated double oven, electric hob, integrated dishwasher, an integrated washer/dryer, large integrated fridge freezer, a water filter with separate tap and an integrated microwave. The kitchen area has a window overlooking the High Street and is open to the dining area where the table seats six. The sitting area has a 32 inch flat-screen TV with Freeview channels and a DVD player, an iPod docking station; a bridge table, games and DVDs are also supplied for your enjoyment. There's ample seating with a three-seater and a two-seater sofa, an armchair, a carver chair, a stool, and a real gas flame stove for cosy winter visits or a chilly evening anytime.

Master Bedroom
This large bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and French doors opening onto the balcony where you can sit and watch the sunrise over the sea. There are matching bedside tables and lamps, an armchair, two chairs, two chests of drawers, a built-in double door wardrobe, a dressing table, stool, and mirror, and a wall-mounted 22 inch Samsung flat-screen TV with free view channels.

Bedroom One
A twin room with two standard sized single beds, bedside tables and lamps, two chairs, two chests of drawers, a built-in wardrobe, a mirror and a wall-mounted 22 inch Samsung flat-screen TV with Freeview channels.

Optional Third Room
There is an optional third bedroom to the property which has adult length bunk beds. This can be booked for an additional supplement of 10% of the rental price - please contact our office for more details. This room has reading lights, and a window overlooking the High Street. Although the room is very small, storage for clothing has been optimised. There is a short hanging rail at the end of the bunks, a small chest of drawers and two large containers that slide under the bottom bunk.

Bathroom
This room has a shower as part of a small four-foot bath, a w.c. a medicine cabinet, electric towel rails, and a hand basin.

Outside
The sea-facing balcony has to be one of the best places to sit in Aldeburgh; furnished with a table and chairs and accessed from the master bedroom with a window from the living area which you can use as a 'serving hatch'! On-road parking can usually be found in nearby side streets and in the pay and display car park close by. There are beach chairs for you to use on the long stretch shingle beach.

All prices for this self-catering accommodation in Aldeburgh include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

Crabbe House is equipped with gas central heating and a gas stove. Appliances include a 32 inch and two 22 inch flat screen TVs with FreeView, a DVD player, an iPod docking station, WiFi broadband, Bosch kitchen appliances including: electric hob, integrated double oven, integrated washer/drier, integrated dishwasher, integrated fridge freezer, and an integrated microwave. There is carpeted flooring in the bedrooms, dining/sitting room and on the stairs, the kitchen, bathroom and shower room have lino flooring. There is a card table, playing cards and Bridge scorers and other games. For the beach there are six chairs and a wind break.

A travel cot, high chair and 2 stair gates are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking. In addition, if the mattress to the bottom bunk is removed and the slats underneath taken up, the cot will fit in the space thus provided, making best use of the room.

There are beach chairs and a bridge table along with a selection of games and DVDs.

This self-catering Aldeburgh accommodation is located less than a minute's walk from the beach and shops of the popular seaside town of Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast. Aldeburgh has an excellent range of restaurants, pubs and shops and there are pretty walks around the marsh and to Thorpeness. Fresh fish can be bought from the fishermen's huts along the beach. There are tennis courts, a nine hole and an 18 hole golf course (rated as one of the top 100 in the UK) in Aldeburgh. For those who enjoy birdwatching, boat trips are available on the River Alde. There are also tennis courts and a golf course in Thorpeness, and for those who appreciate music, Snape Maltings is only 5 miles away.

A well-behaved dog is welcome. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.
