Compass Cottage at Aldeburgh

Set back from the road with a small front garden, the front door opens directly into the open plan living/dining room. Stairs rise to the first floor and a door opens down into the well equipped, light kitchen with shower room beyond. Accommodation is on the first floor with an elegant master bedroom with king size bed at the front and a double leading to the bunk room at the back, both overlooking the garden.

An added bonus is the enclosed courtyard garden across a path at the back of the house, furnished so you can enjoy meals in the sun, surrounded by pretty pots, using the substantial gas BBQ. There is on-roading parking along Leiston Road where Compass Cottage is located and you can usually find a space close to the house.

Ground floor:
You’re welcomed into a charming living-dining room with stairs rising to the first floor, the kitchen at the back with shower room beyond and a stable door to the garden. There are hard floors throughout the ground floor.

Living/Dining Room
The cosy seating area has ta two seater and three seater sofa, a directors chair, occasional tables, remote controlled electric fire to take the chill off cooler months and flat screen TV. There’s a step down dividing the living space from the dining area furnished with a table and six chairs plus a wine rack anticipating your arrival!

Step down into the quaint well fitted kitchen with stable door to the rear entrance and courtyard garden. There’s an electric oven and grill with ceramic hob and extractor, large integrated fridge and separate three drawer freezer, plus a washing machine and microwave. There is also a coffee machine for guests use.

Shower Room
A good sized modern room with double walk in shower (with lip), wash basin, WC, heated towel rail and frosted window giving plenty of natural light.

First floor
Carpeted stairs with hand rails rise from the dining area to the first floor landing with a step up to the master bedroom and door to the double leading down through to the bunk room.

Master bedroom
A sunny bedroom with a lovely king size bed with bookshelves behind and ample storage beneath in drawers. There’s also a free standing wardrobe and butlers table for the TV, which has a built in DVD player.

Double Bedroom
A calm and welcoming bedroom overlooking the courtyard garden with double bed, again with storage drawers beneath, a wardrobe and a couple of shelves.

Bunk Bedroom
Step down from the double into this cute bedroom, ideal for children. Featuring sturdy bunk beds, shelves with kids books, beanbags and a table with lamp.

Compass Cottage is one of a terrace of cottages on Leiston Road in Aldeburgh and you can usually find a parking space close to the house. There’s a picket fence with steps down to the sunny east facing front gravel garden with ‘lovers’ seat where you can enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon glass of fizz. A communal path runs down the back of the cottage giving access to the kitchen door and a charming sunny gravelled garden, furnished with a picnic table and umbrella, four additional chairs and a substantial gas BBQ. The Shed is available to store bikes, buckets and spades and also has additional chairs and beach accessories including a windbreak and crabbing lines for guests use.

This typical Suffolk holiday cottage is located within a short walk of the beach and the heart of the picturesque town of Aldeburgh with it’s excellent restaurants, pubs, cafes and wide range of independent shops, convenience stores, historic cinema, art galleries and huts along the beach where local fishermen sell their wares. Aldeburgh is known for it's famous Fish and Chips, perfect to be enjoyed along the seawall. A short walk takes you to Kings Field park and playing field which is fabulous for children and dogs. There are miles of walks through the marshes and beyond from here to explore.

The property is within a prime position with a fantastic pub and supermarket within a 50m walk from the property.

The area is excellent for cycling, sailing or golf and there are many interesting walks and places to visit.

Within a short drive away you have a variety of family friendly areas to enjoy, this includes Thorpeness which has the Meare, perfect for a days rowing. Further along the Suffolk Coast you have Southwold and Walberswick, both of these have sandy beaches perfect for building sandcastles.

Slightly inland you have Snape Maltings, which holds the proms, along with the Market Towns of Woodbridge, home of the Tide Mill and Framlingham, most known for the 'Castle on the Hill'.
The charming gravelled garden is one of a terrace, it is fenced however there’s a path between it and the cottage.

Compass Cottage is positioned on a variety of levels with steps up and down to different rooms.

A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking to secure your booking. The balance and a returnable good housekeeping deposit are due six weeks before your holiday commences.
