Kettlebaston is surrounded by walks to enjoy and is only three miles from one of the UK's best known medieval wool towns, Lavenham.
Ground Floor
The front door opens into a little porch with coat hooks and shoe space and a door to the cloakroom. A door ahead of you leads into the gorgeous living space with parquet floor in the extension and tiles in the dining area where the door gives access to the stairs, a second door takes you to the cosy sitting room.
Kitchen/Dining/Sitting Room
A wonderful place to socialise with friends and family, effectively combining all three rooms in one, with a superb combination of old and new. The smart contemporary U shaped kitchen has bags of storage for your groceries with deep drawers and cupboards, a Neff fan oven and five ring induction hob, dishwasher, under counter fridge and a microwave. There’s also a chest freezer and washer dryer in the garage for you to use if needed.
The dining space is full of character, furnished with a unique hand-carved Shoreline dining table with bench and three chairs, an ornamental fireplace (ideal spot for dogs with a gate provided to make it, effectively, a kennel), shuttered window, attractive plate/hook rack, and dresser.
Between the kitchen and doors to the patio is a comfortable sitting area with a generous sofa and footstool, inviting you to sit back and enjoy your holiday!

This room oozes character with ledge and brace doors, oak floor, and wood burner in the brick fireplace. A comfy L shaped sofa sits in the corner and there's a large dresser and wall-mounted Smart TV.
First Floor
A door in the dining room opens onto carpeted stairs rising to the first-floor landing where you'll find both bedrooms (also carpeted) and the bathroom between them, with a wooden floor.

This charming room with windows to the front and back of Brick Cottage has a king-size bed, bedside units and a chest of drawers.
Twin Bedroom
A lovely light triple aspect room with two sturdy single beds, quaint bedside table, and lamp, plus storage in a large chest of drawers.

Lovely light bathroom with Velux window and wooden floor. The bath has an adjustable hand shower and screen, and there’s a washbasin, WC, heated towel rail, and attractive medicine cabinet.

Brick Cottage sits in the quiet village of Kettlebaston in mid-Suffolk with so many wonderful things to do in the surrounding areas, including iconic historical landmarks, beautiful parks, wildlife centres and museums. The cottage is just three miles east of the medieval wool town of Lavenham with its beamed houses, beautiful church and Guild Hall (owned by the National Trust); as well as an abundance of independent produce sold in independent shops and served in an excellent collection of eateries, from fine dining at The Swan to a choice of traditional pubs.
You can walk, cycle or drive to the Six Bells, The Street, Preston St Mary CO10 9NG, for fabulous Sunday roasts, top-end gastro pub a la carte menu and a strong wine list. Aspalls on tap and a wide range of ales and spirits. Well priced set 2 or 3 course menus at lunchtimes.
Further afield are the villages of Long Melford, Clare and Cavendish, which can be explored by car or bicycle. "Constable Country" is also a fascinating area to explore - East Bergholt, Flatford and Dedham, where you can hire a boat for a day’s rowing on the river Stour.
The sandy beaches of Frinton, Walton and Felixstowe are just under an hour’s drive away while Aldeburgh, Walberswick and Southwold are near enough for a day’s excursion.
A well-behaved dog is welcome. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.
