The shepherd's hut is so relaxing, with a view across to Eye church and an amazing sunset on the night I visited. Scrunchy bed linen and candlelight…utter simplicity and romance. Just a stroll across the field is a bathroom with a powerful shower, within a beautifully renovated ancient abbey maltings. I came away feeling rested and inspired! Olivia is a very welcoming and considerate host…the booking was arranged very last minute, but everything was well organised and efficient."
The interior is simple, cosy and well insulated with candles, solar lamps and a gas fire giving a touch of romance. The real bed will ensure you enjoy a good night’s sleep with bedside shelves for your books, a table and couple of chairs, cupboard and plenty of little accessories to ensure you enjoy your stay. An added luxury is the fab shower room in the impressive Abbey Hall just a short walk across the field with shower, WC and basin. A complimentary box of coffees, teas, apple juice and biscuits and access to a kettle, toaster, hot plate and sink in the hall allows you to enjoy hot drinks and a snack in the luxury of your accommodation and you can also connect to the Wifi in the hall. Recently new flooring, solar lighting and a solar charger for your phone, laptop or hairdryer has been installed.

This quirky self-catering holiday hut is equipped with solar lights and solar power so you can recharge your devices, plus a very effective gas fire which, together with the hut being well insulated, ensures you'll be cosy in any weather! There are also blankets and candles provided.
A kettle, toaster and hot plate can be used in the Abbey Hall which is just a couple of minutes walk from the hut and there's a sink with hot and cold water there.
You are in a very special part of Suffolk where you can walk into Eye, one of the most beautiful small towns in Suffolk, with Southwold, the East Coast and the Norfolk broads a 40 minute drive away with some of the most amazing villages, churches, antique shops and pubs nearby. Diss train station is 10 minutes by Taxi and trains run regularly directly to London Liverpool Street. The area's also fab for Cycling, walking and totally relaxing.
This accommodation is very rural, not for the faint hearted but perfect for guests who enjoy a fully remote experience with only the stars twinkling and owls hooting at night. The owners live in the hall close by in case of an emergency but will respect your privacy and encourage you to do the same.
The bathroom is in a separate building just a couple of minutes walk from the hut, as are the facilities for making hot drinks. There's no Wifi in the hut, however you can use it in the hall.
