Hot Off the Press!
The stunning Mousehall Barn near Hadleigh is featured in Essex Life Magazine. We are delighted that a Best of Suffolk property has achieved this accolade. So we have put together this blog in which we share the highlights of the article about the property’s owner and her natural talent for interior design.
Stina Bellamy is the lucky owner of Mousehall Barn. She lives in Earls Colne with her husband and two children and their King Charles Spaniel. Sybilla Hart, of Essex Life Magazine, quoted “I cannot help thinking that if Stina Bellamy’s personal style is anything to go by, her talent for interior design must be excellent. I am right. Upon arrival at her beautiful 18th century Georgian home outside Earls Colne, it becomes immediately apparent that Stina’s elegance does indeed extend to her own environment.”
The article continues to sing phrases about Stina’s style and her interior design company. Then Sybilla talks about the clever use of storage and light to ensure that the presence of her children’s toys isn’t overbearing on the overall design.
“The children know that Mummy has her work and that sometimes the fluffy toys, baby Annabel dolls, LEGO and Playdough need to be put away.”
“The first time we visited the barn, we couldn’t find it and I was thinking, what have we done?”. At the time she and her husband Duncan were living in a flat in Islington. The barn became their rural outlet and as soon as the couple had their first child, the race to the countryside was on. “We had nowhere to store our buggy in our flat so I regularly heaved it along with bags of shopping and the baby up the stairs. It wasn’t fun.”
The barn took two years to renovate and as we know, is a successful holiday let in its own right called Mousehall Barn and is marketed by us here at Best of Suffolk.
Talking about her interior design company, ‘the business has just grown organically – through word of mouth, which has suited me down to the ground given the ages of my children.’
