A beautifully arranged Suffolk cottage in Bury St Edmunds
Understood to have origins dating back to at least the 17th century, this charming and beautifully arranged holiday cottage is being restored to its former glory, ready to welcome Best of Suffolk guests from February 2015. The owners are successfully combining contemporary luxury with a wealth of period features – an original fireplace, exposed carved ceiling timbers and studwork, exposed brickwork and polished oak floorboards.
The Little Thatch, aptly named after its thatched roof, is an archetypal chocolate box cottage. Guests are welcomed directly into the lobby with the sitting room leading off to the right and the dining room to the left, plus an oak staircase rising to the first floor where accommodation comprises two stunning bedrooms, full of character with twin and king size beds. The well-equipped kitchen is off the charming dining room, ideal for entertaining, and the bathroom with shower over the bath is also accessed from the kitchen.
