Letheringham Water Mill wins VisitEngland’s Dog Friendly Business 2017

Visit England announced Letheringham Water Mill Cottages in Suffolk as the winner of the 2017 Dog Friendly Business of the Year. This prestigious accolade was announced by the national tourist board at their annual Awards for Excellence which took place over Afternoon Tea at the Hilton Waldorf, London.

Working collaboratively with industry, VisitEngland’s Awards for Excellence celebrate the best in English tourism. The Awards recognize and reward business and people working in the tourism and hospitality industry, and help raise the profile and importance of the industry.

Jacqui and Richard Gooding bought the Mill House in Letheringham near Woodbridge a few years ago, a tumble down collection of dilapidated buildings on the edge of the River Deben. Beautifully and stylishly restoring the Water Mill and Mill House they created some of the highest quality holiday accommodation in the UK. But these are not just stunning holiday cottages, these are stunning dog friendly holiday cottages, the standard of which is by no means compromised by their canine guests. Four-legged guests are as important here as their two-legged owners and are welcomed with personalised crates containing all sorts of practical items and treats. The site is completely dog proof and there is even an indoor dog shower for use after muddy walks!

Speaking on behalf of Letheringham Water Mill, Richard Gooding said, “We are absolutely thrilled to win this coveted award. It’s wonderful for such a small business to be recognised nationally.”
