High Ash Farm, Badingham is complete!
Alex decided to create three stunning holiday lets within the six acre grounds; two from within the 16th century farmhouse and one stunning contemporary conversion of the dilapidated The Seed Store.
The Cottage – Sleeps 2
The Cottage is a beautifully renovated portion of the original 16th century farmhouse, which has been sympathetically divided into two luxury holiday cottages, overlooking six acres of meadows, fields and neighbouring farmland.
The conservation of this property has revealed an original oak timber frame, period brickwork and most excitingly a stunning array of early 16th century medieval ritual markings on the inglenook fire places bressumer – intended to ward off evil spirits!
Now firmly in the modern world, The Cottage comes complete with fully equipped bespoke kitchen, WIFI, handmade bed with top quality mattress, modern shower and separate roll top bath – meaning fans of the 21st century will feel right at home within this beautifully restored cottage.
The Cross Wing – Sleeps 2
The Cross Wing is the major portion of the carefully restored 16th century High Ash Farmhouse . The ethos of the renovation has been to conserve the past, whilst creating a luxurious holiday cottage in the Suffolk countryside, ideal for 21st century couples to relax in
Much thought has gone into the setting, where wildlife ponds have been created, over a mile of native hedges planted and arable fields laid to meadow.
The Cross Wing has it’s own south facing patio and garden, with lawns stretching down to a newly created wildlife pond. Guests will also benefit from the use of extensive walks around the grounds, where they might encounter our flock of rare breed sheep!
The Seed Store – Sleeps 2
The work stunning is ofter over-used, but we think it’s appropriate for the Seed Store, a contemporary conversion of the farm’s original, well, seed store! The property has the very highest standard of contents, from original Eames, Saarinen and Jacobsen furniture to a huge shower and roll top bath…we feel this really is the Best of Suffolk!
This formerly derelict building has been brought back to life using traditional materials, including hemp and lime insulation, lime plaster and original brick flooring, and now offers an extremely light and contemporary living space, perfect for couples looking to spend a few days away in this wonderful part of Suffolk.
