1 Westgate: New property live today in Thorpeness, Suffolk – sleeps 8
1 Westgate is an elegant and spacious house, with large garden, within walking distance of everything in this popular holiday village – the Country Club, Thorpeness Meare, The Dolphin Inn, village shop, Golf Club and the beach. The house, built in 1929 as part of the original Ogilvie Estate, is situated down an unmade road where there is space for guests to park two or three cars.
The large living room on the first floor, with view of the House in the Clouds, is a wonderful place for families or friends to congregate. The kitchen, dining room and study are located on the ground floor with a cloakroom and separate WC. There are four bedrooms; a king size with shower and basin on the first floor, with a twin and an additional king and twin on the top floor with the family bathroom and separate WC.
This lovely light room catches the sun as it moves around with windows facing southwest over Westgate and west with view of the House in the Clouds over the trees. A fire in the original brick fireplace will warm you when the sun sets. The room has a wooden floor scattered with rugs and is furnished with an eclectic mix of side tables, sofas, chairs and a footstool, giving ample seating for guests. Shelves are stacked with books, DVDs and CDs for use with the flat screen TV, DVD player, sound system and iPod dock.
This traditional bright kitchen with windows looking north/east over the garden is fully equipped. There is an electric oven, four gas rings with extractor above, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and coffee machine.
There is a circular table and four chairs for casual dining and a spacious larder.
