“Overall it was a a pleasant stay.”
Our feedback is based on ways to improve the guest experience, rather than out and out complaints. The cottage looks tired - there are many areas where a lick of paint would not go amiss, and the sofas look rather stained and worn. The outdoor furniture was covered in bird poo - it needs regular cleaning. There were only 2 toilet rolls, one bin bag, a couple of dishwasher tabs, and no cleaning materials on arrival. We were unsure if this meant guests normally do not keep the cottage clean day by day(!), or whether we needed to buy our own - that would have been helpful to know when we were packing for the stay. We purchased our own in the local shop. Some of the electrical appliance guides were not for the actual appliances in the house (microwave for example). The in-house guide (on the table on arrival) made reference to the satellite television - we could find no trace of a satellite tv box. Finally, the shower temperature dial in the family bathroom was stuck solid on very hot - it was locked with uncleared limescale. It took some effort (and a tool from my car) to free it and make the shower usable. Overall, better guidance on what to find and expect on arrival (and what to bring with us), and a general redecorate and deep clean would make this a perfect stay. Great space and location, loved being able to bring our little dog, and loved the size of the kitchen. Thanks.
