ABOUT THE AREA:
Snape is one of east Suffolk’s most sought after villages, famous for the Maltings, which have been developed into the home of the Aldeburgh Festival and are now the host for a renowned calendar of music events, but also surrounding the concert hall are many boutique shops – and there are many beautiful walks along the River Alde and a pub, the Plough and Sail to visit. The village of Snape has two excellent pubs, The Golden Key and Crown, both within walking distance of the cottage, and there is also the famous Sailors Path, a wonderful 4 mile walk towards Aldeburgh – highly recommended.
