In our series of talking to our local suppliers this time we sat down with Ann from Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall.<\/p>\n

We sat down with her and asked her a few questions about the Hall and what she enjoys about Suffolk.<\/p>\n

Tell us about Jubilee Hall<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

At Jubilee Hall, I take on the dual role of Chair of Trustees and Hall Manager.<\/p>\n

We are a tiny team, with many volunteer roles, and all work incredibly hard to ensure that our theatre and community venue remains open and provides a range of entertainment and events for local residents and holiday makers to enjoy.<\/p>\n

The hall was established in 1887, to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria, and has seen a whole host of activity over the years!<\/p>\n

Why should people come to Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Why not? We provide entertainment across all genres and for all ages. Whether you like jazz, folk or classical music, comedy, theatre, talks, craft fairs and farmers markets, or family-friendly events, we have a year-round programme in which we hope there is something for everyone!<\/p>\n

What has been your favourite event that has visited the Hall? <\/span><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We have had many fantastic events over the years, but one of my favourite annual events is our Jazz at the Movies: A Swingin\u2019 Christmas show, featuring the Chris Ingham Trio and vocalist Joanna Eden. Nothing will get you in the festival mood like this will!<\/p>\n

\n

Which is your favourite village in Suffolk any why? \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Very hard to say! Seeing as I can\u2019t say Aldeburgh, as it\u2019s a town, I would have to go for Snape. Just ten minutes down the road, the rich variety of cultural events, especially music, that is on offer at Snape Maltings, perfectly complements our offering at Jubilee Hall. It\u2019s also located on the River Alde, and is a place of natural beauty, tranquillity and many reed beds!<\/p>\n

What is your cocktail of choice for a sunny summer evening on the Suffolk Coast? <\/span><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Oh, absolutely a Fisher\u2019s Gin & Tonic! Fishers Gin, based in Aldeburgh, are brilliant supporters of what we do, and their gin is divine. Try their smoked gin with ginger ale and much ice. It\u2019s the best for a sunny evening.<\/p>\n

\n

The Suffolk coast is the perfect setting, could you share a couple of your favourite local locations to enjoy? <\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Many, many favourite places to choose from but I love the coast, and so I would first recommend a little tour of coastal towns and villages going north or Aldeburgh \u2013 Thorpeness, Dunwich, Walberswick and Southwold \u2013 and then I would go back the other way, head to Bawdsey Quay, and take the ferry across to Old Felixstowe.<\/p>\n

There you can enjoy stunning walks along the rugged coast, fresh fish, crabbing spots and a cold drink at the Ferry Boat Inn.<\/p>\n

On the way back from there, pop into the Ramsholt Arms for the most fabulous Suffolk sunset!<\/p>\n
