Are you thinking of spending a weekend in Cambridgeshire?\u00a0 The Ellis Miller House<\/a> is an award-winning, architecturally unique, single-story property in the village of Prickwillow, five miles from Ely.<\/p>\n

This spectacular property was designed by the architect Jonathan Ellis Miller as his own home in the late \u201980s.\u00a0 It\u2019s the ideal place for a couple looking to experience top-flight architecture and enjoy some R&R in a stunning rural setting<\/p>\n

Best of Suffolk has enjoyed having this fabulous self-catering holiday home in our portfolio for many years and it was time for the photos to be renewed. Donna, our Property Recruitment Executive, was lucky enough to spend a weekend in Cambridgeshire at this property to take the photographs and renew the listing.\u00a0 Here\u2019s what she had to say about it\u2026<\/p>\n

Donna\u2019s Weekend at the Ellis Miller House<\/h2>\n

After an interesting journey through the Fens, The Ellis-Miller House was easy to find and so welcoming.\u00a0 The warm floor under my feet was lovely and the housekeeper had laid the fire for me ready to light.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Being February, the daylight was fading quite early so I closed the electric blinds on the front windows and enjoyed a glass of red wine by the fire whilst watching one of my favourite films using the BT Youview.<\/p>\n

\"ellish<\/p>\n

The kitchen had everything I needed to cook supper.\u00a0 It\u2019s such a light and bright space, even at night time.\u00a0 There\u2019s lots of room in the dining area and four chairs if you\u2019re cooking for friends or your other half.<\/p>\n

\"Weekend<\/p>\n

I had a super night’s sleep in the king-size bed.\u00a0 The linen was crisp and the bed is extremely comfortable.\u00a0 There was ample space for me to unpack and store my clothes, bags, shoes, etc.\u00a0 Having an en suite bathroom as well as another wet room was very convenient.<\/p>\n

\"Weekend<\/p>\n

I would love to be back here in the summer!\u00a0 There\u2019s a gorgeous lawned garden and BBQ- perfect for couples to enjoy sunny alfresco dining.\u00a0 Although I was so lucky with the weather, enjoying glorious sunshine, it was not quite warm enough for sunbathing!\u00a0 Guests will be lucky to try out the sunbeds on the sun deck during the warmer months.<\/p>\n

Discovering Ely<\/h2>\n

I found a few hours to pop into Ely which was a real treat.\u00a0 I visited Ely cathedral and then enjoyed a delicious lunch at The White Pheasant<\/a>, which was absolutely delicious!\u00a0 This would be the perfect place for a romantic evening meal.\u00a0 The surprise tasting menu sounded particularly enticing and ideal to share with your significant other.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s far more history in Ely that I\u2019d love to discover!\u00a0 Oliver Cromwell\u2019s family lived in Ely for some 10 years.\u00a0 Today you can visit their former house to experience 17th Century domestic life would have been like.<\/p>\n

Ely also has a beautiful waterside area, which is an attraction within itself.\u00a0 Soak up the beauty and tranquillity of the local countryside or explore the many cafes and restaurants or visit the art galleries.\u00a0 As I didn\u2019t have much time, I simply relaxed and watched the riverboats pass by.<\/p>\n

\"Weekend<\/p>\n

I enjoyed my time at The Ellis Miller House so much. What a treat to be able to explore all that a weekend in Cambridgeshire has to offer.<\/p>\n
