{"id":3327,"date":"2019-08-28T10:59:10","date_gmt":"2019-08-28T09:59:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bos.cottage-search.com\/blog\/2019\/08\/28\/ed-sheeran-ends-his-tour-in-ipswich\/"},"modified":"2025-07-24T11:59:01","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T10:59:01","slug":"ed-sheeran-ends-his-tour-in-ipswich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/ed-sheeran-ends-his-tour-in-ipswich\/","title":{"rendered":"Ed Sheeran Ends His Tour in Ipswich!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Ed Sheeran comes home to Ipswich!<\/h2>\n<p>As the bank holiday comes to an end, Best of Suffolk have been reflecting on the magnificent weekend.\u00a0 England winning at Headingley, the 30 degrees + weather and Ed Sheeran performing a series of homecoming gigs at Ipswich.<\/p>\n<p>The four night performance at Chantry Park finished Ed&#8217;s 260 night world tour.\u00a0 Of special significance to Ed thanks to the proximity to his home town of Framlingham, it as a weekend to remember!<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-39636\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-27-at-09.36.44.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"901\" height=\"676\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Local Boy Done Good<\/h3>\n<p>Ipswich, in fact the whole of Suffolk, welcomed Ed into Chantry Park.\u00a0 Raised in Suffolk, he was performing to his home crowd.\u00a0 With over 1 million people attending to see him over the 4 nights, Ipswich was buzzing!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-39641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-27-at-14.27.54.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"1200\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Castle on the Hill<\/h3>\n<p>The global superstar opened his concert with &#8216;Castle on the Hill&#8217; written about Ed&#8217;s home town of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/suffolk-breaks\/area-guides\/framlingham\/\">Framlingham<\/a>.\u00a0 Roars from the crowds of delighted Sheeran fans singing their hearts at about &#8220;those country lanes&#8221; we all love so well.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-39651\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-27-at-09.34.37.jpeg\" alt=\"Ed Sherran\" width=\"903\" height=\"677\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Football Shirt<\/h3>\n<p>Famed for wearing a football shirt from the local team of the stadium in which he is performing, Ed&#8217;s visit to Ipswich didn&#8217;t disappoint!\u00a0 Ed was supporting his home football team, Ipswich and Framlingham.\u00a0 The crowds had opportunities to purchase a Ipswich football shirt with the cover of &#8216;Divide&#8217;, Ed&#8217;s recent album on.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-39650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-11.48.35.jpeg\" alt=\"Ed Sheeran\" width=\"899\" height=\"1199\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Competition Winner<\/h3>\n<p>Best of Suffolk ran a competition to give away 2 Ed Sheeran tickets for the Friday night.\u00a0 The winners of the competition met up with Tim and Matthew from Best of Suffolk to collect their tickets and from there had a wonderful evening singing along to Ed Sheeran&#8217;s classics!<\/p>\n<p>Ed also ensure the pupils of Thomas Mills high School (his former school in Framlingham) were each given two complimentary tickets each to attend the concert.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-39634\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/WIth-winners.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"902\" height=\"677\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From the Best of Suffolk team, Becky, Donna, Matthew and Tim, along with their friends and families, all had a wonderful time.\u00a0 They continue to make the rest of the team jealous with stories of the evening.\u00a0 We hope you&#8217;ve all enjoyed seeing this Suffolk boy return home after achieving such global success.<\/p>\n<h2>Quote from Becky<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;It was my third time experiencing the magic of an Ed Sheeran concert. The previous times at Wembley were wonderful, but nothing compared to the homecoming dates!
