Here is their account&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36664\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/suffolk-aldeburgh-snape-sailors-path-walkIMG-20181025-WA0015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Rosie is five, a very lively Jack Russell and always keen to explore and spend time with her dad&#8230;me!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/suffolk-aldeburgh-snape-sailors-path-walkIMG-20181025-WA0026.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So, we decided to slightly bunk off from our collective responsibilities for a few hours, in Rosie\u2019s case sleeping, in mine overseeing everything Best of Suffolk&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36673\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/suffolk-aldeburgh-snape-sailors-path-walkIMG-20181025-WA0024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From our starting point in Aldeburgh we started as meant to go on, by cheating! So we jumped in the car, agreed I\u2019d do the driving and proceeded to the car park out of Aldeburgh, just beyond the Golf Club, time to start our adventure in earnest&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36680\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/suffolk-aldeburgh-snape-sailors-path-walkIMG-20181025-WA0031.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first part of the walk took us far away from Town and road, bridging woodland and marshland with far-reaching views across both&#8230;Rosie was busy sniffing all kinds of interesting smells and generally being a Jack Russell!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36677\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/suffolk-aldeburgh-snape-sailors-path-walkIMG-20181025-WA0028.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The walk is ever changing, moving from woodland to marsh, then meadow, all beautiful. It\u2019s quite a sociable walk too, many of making a kind of medieval commute between two amazing places&#8230;on foot, along an ancient trail.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36681\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/suffolk-aldeburgh-snape-sailors-path-walkIMG-20181025-WA0033.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Approaching Snape, over the warren, the scenery opens up, the renowned concert hall hoves into view and both Rosie and I started to anticipate our pub lunch at the Plough and Sail&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36684\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/suffolk-aldeburgh-snape-sailors-path-walkIMG-20181025-WA0036.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Following a nice catch up chat with Alex Burnside, it\u2019s proprietor, re-fueled with a hearty BLT, it was time to re-trace our steps&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36676\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/08\/suffolk-aldeburgh-snape-sailors-path-walkIMG-20181025-WA0027.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Back at the car, Rosie suggested we do it all again, but risking some of her sulky behavior we returned to the soothing balm of wonderful Aldeburgh, to a hero\u2019s return&#8230;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently Alex and his Small Dog, Rosie, took some time out to do one of their favourite walks, the sailor\u2019s path from their home in Aldeburgh, to Snape, and back.
