Wherever you stay in Suffolk for the Early May Bank Holiday, you\u2019ll find yourself with plenty to see and do. Here are six of our Best of Suffolk team\u2019s favourite May Bank Holiday events and activities\u2026<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. May Day the Tudor way<\/strong>
    \nA stay in south west Suffolk will find you on the doorstep of lively and historic celebrations. Kentwell Hall in Long Melford<\/a> hosts May Day the Tudor way from Saturday 5 to Monday 7 May, including processions, plays and pageantry \u2013 a great day out for the whole family.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Medieval festival fun
      \n<\/strong>Go east and step further back in time and join the       Medieval Festival at Framlingham Castle<\/a> throughout the bank holiday. Join sword school, witness knights taking their skills into combat and meet the reenactors who bring these exciting times to life.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       <\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Classic car rally
        \n<\/strong>Move south and classic cars, lorries, motorbikes and buses will all be taking to the roads on 6 May for the annual         Ipswich to Felixstowe Historic Vehicle Rally<\/a>. Starting from Christchurch Park in Ipswich at 11am, over 500 magnificent vehicles will head to Felixstowe Promenade, where they\u2019ll be on display into the afternoon.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

         <\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Horsing around
          \n<\/strong>Staying near Ipswich, you could trot on to the           Woodbridge Horse Show<\/a>. At Trinity Park on Monday 7 May, eleven rings will feature more than 100 classes, ranging from Suffolk horses, show-jumping, in-hand showing and driving, as well as a shoeing competition in the farriery and dog agility classes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

           <\/p>\n

            \n
          1. Walk on the wild side
            \n<\/strong>Head back to the coast and, while the weather may not be warm enough for balmy beach days just yet, this is also a great area for walking.\u00a0 If you\u2019re an early bird you could even combine this with a             National Trust Dawn Chorus walk<\/a>, taking place on Monday 7 May at 5am. Alternatively, join the Magic of Minsmere Walk at RSPB Minsmere, on Sunday 6th May at 9.15am, where you\u2019ll find bluebells, birds and wonderful wildlife in abundance.<\/li>\n
          2. Bank holiday bonus \u2013 Art for Cure
            \n<\/strong>Adding art into the mix, head over to the spectacular Glemham Hall over the bank holiday weekend for             Art for Cure<\/a> \u2013 an amazing exhibition of art and sculpture that\u2019s supported by Best of Suffolk.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
