Alex completes 2017 London Marathon for Children in Need

Wow, our Director Alex Tarry, completed his first marathon, in London on Sunday 23 April 2017 – a great achievement for Alex, who took up running 18 months ago.  Alex was running as part of a group of eight with Chris Evans and Vassos Alexander from BBC Radio 2 in support of Children in Need, collectively raising over £200,000 for the charity.

Alex was part of a team, including Radio 2’s Chris Evans, Paula Radcliffe, Steve Cram and 401 Marathon superstar Ben Smith, training and participating in the London Marathon, Windsor Half Marathon and the New York Marathon this November, all to raise money for Children in Need.

Talking after the event Alex said “Finishing the London Marathon is one of the best things I have ever done in my life, the support we’ve all had from Steve, Paula and the Radio 2 team has been amazing, encouraging me to prepare for something that until very recently I wouldn’t have believed possible”

Throughout the day Naomi, Alex’s wife supported him in his efforts, cheering him on at the start, six mile mark in Greenwich, 14 miles in Limehouse, 21 miles in Poplar and of course at the finishing line!
