When you think of Suffolk you think of long walks through the countryside, days out at the beaches, or evenings spent enjoying delicious food and the many amazing eateries, but how about canoeing?
This September our Sales Lead Hannah decided to head to Bungay for a day of canoeing on the Waveney river, and what a great day it was!
The day was spent canoeing along the beautiful river, between fields with livestock on, past beautiful houses and wilderness, seeing the beautiful sights and wildlife along the way! Swans, herons and kingfishers can be seen on the river and, in the summer beautiful damselflies, butterflies and dragonflies. Although otters are living in the river they are not easily seen.
Canoes can be hired for half days or for full days, they are perfect for couples and families to enjoy, and why not take a picnic along too to make the most of the day!
They say you never know what you are going to find along the river, and you really don’t, around a corner was a cow in the river! (Don’t panic however, the swans and animals are very used to you along the river, so just glide/walk out of the way!) A sight you never usually see!
This really is a day out with a difference, but one we thoroughly recommend! Canoeing and Kayaking can be found at different points around Suffolk, including Iken Canoe, Bungay Caravan park and also Waveney river centre, so why not enjoy this on your next trip to Suffolk!
