Perfect for creating wonderful memories for children and adults alike this beautiful cottage oozes charm and seaside fun whilst being finished to high standard with an Aga, wood-burner and beautiful art throughout. Unusually for Southwold, there is also a lovely garden to relax in after exploring the High Street shops, or a visit to the beach!
Parking for guests is usually available on the street outside Wherry Cottage, then through the front door is the large living room, with the kitchen/diner and utility room beyond. Upstairs a hallway leads to both double bedrooms, the family bathroom and children’s bedroom – both double bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms.
GROUND FLOOR: Has a Sitting Room, Kitchen/Diner, Utility Room and Cloakroom
SITTING ROOM: The front door leads into the sitting room, which has a large hearth with wood burning stove and windows to the south-facing front of the cottage. This room is furnished in a comfortable style with seaside themed artworks, with together with the two, three-seater sofas and armchairs make this a good room to relax in. There is also a large flat screen TV, and ipod docking station.
KITCHEN/DINING ROOM: A focal point of this room is the wonderful Aga range cooker, which is complemented by a traditional sink and full range of modern amenities, such as oven and hob, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The dining table seats 8 on a combination of a settle and chairs, surrounded by large windows and doors onto the rear paved garden.
UTILTY ROOM: With a door to the rear garden this room houses the washing machine and dryer, has space for outdoor boots and coats.
CLOAKROOM: With W.C. and basin.
FIRST FLOOR: With two Double Bedrooms with en-suites, a Children’s Room with four Single Beds and a Family Bathroom.
BEDROOM 1: With windows overlooking the front of the property this room has an iron-framed double bed, dressing table and wardrobe, and door leading to the en-suite shower room.
EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM 1: With shower, W.C and hand basin.
BEDROOM 2: With a window overlooking the rear garden and a metal frame double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and door to the en-suite shower room.
EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM 2: With shower, W.C. and hand basin.
BEDROOM 3: This room is a child’s fantasy, with 4 single beds arranged on two levels with a window to the rear of the property. One single bed is on the first level, with the rest on the second level accessible by a steep ladder stair, all surrounded by fun, seaside art and bunting.
FAMILY BATHROOM: Complete with bath with an overhead shower, W.C and basin and plenty of coastal seaside artwork.
OUTSIDE: The paved rear garden, bounded by a white picket fence has a table, chairs, metal bench and BBQ, and is an ideal space to while away a summer’s evening. The cottage is a short walk from the beach and high street – please see the location map for the exact location.
The sandy beach at Southwold is adorned with a string of colourful beach huts that lead along to Southwold Pier at one end and towards Southwold Harbour at the other end the town boasts several excellent pubs and restaurants as well as a range of independent shops and galleries.
There is a pretty walk through the harbour and over a footbridge to the picture-postcard village of Walberswick, home to two good pubs (The Anchor and The Bell) and a long sandy beach. Fresh fish can be bought from the fish huts along the harbour. Southwold is home to the Adnams Brewery and the town's excellent pubs include one of our personal favourites, The Lord Nelson where you can try a range of Adnams bitters.
All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.
This terraced Southwold self catering cottage is equipped with full central heating and a wood burning stove. Appliances include a flat screen TV with FreeView channels, a DVD player, and an iPod docking station. In the kitchen there is a two door Aga, an electric hob and oven, and a fridge with a freezer compartment. There carpeted floors in the bedrooms and wooden floorboards throughout the rest of the cottage.
A travel cot and high chair are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking.
Sorry, no smoking or unaccompanied teenagers permitted at the property. A well-behaved dog can be accommodated on request at the time of booking, must be restricted to the ground floor and is subject to our terms and conditions.

3. How to pay. When you have filled out your booking form you can choose to pay online by credit or debit card or send a cheque. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking. The balance and a £100 returnable good housekeeping deposit (subject to terms and conditions) are due six weeks before your holiday commences. Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.
