Modern holiday Accommodation for four, surrounded by historic Orford

Two Chantry Barns, Orford, is a high quality holiday cottage in a recreation of a Victorian dairy barn, originally on Chantry Farm.  In a quiet corner of historic Orford, the cottage is very well situated to access the famous Castle, the River Ore and Orford Quay. Five minutes away is Orford town centre where you will find The Crown and Castle restaurant, The Jolly Sailor pub, the Kings Head pub serving good food as well as an artisan bakery and village store.

This luxury holiday accommodation for four seamlessly mixes Victorian inspired and the modern with wooden beams accenting the stylish décor throughout. Lovingly recreated, Two Chantry Barns keeps all of the character of the Victorian barn and meets all modern requirements. On the ground floor, you enter into spacious open plan kitchen and living space with doors leading out to the patio. There is a king-size bedroom on this floor as well as the shared bathroom. Upstairs there is a queen-size bedroom leading through to a charming mezzanine, with views across the garden into Orford.

Entering through the front door, you arrive into open plan kitchen/dining/living space.

Kitchen: The kitchen is well appointed with electric induction hob, electric fan oven and microwave. Underneath the granite worktops are an integrated fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is dining space for four.

Living Space:The high ceilings in the living area give a great feeling of space with plenty of seating and large windows out onto the garden. A flat screen television with freeview is available as well as an iPod docking station. There is a well stocked boardgame cupboard underneath the television for some good old fashioned entertainment!

Bedroom 1: The downstairs bedroom is very spacious, with a wardrobe for storage and king-size bed. Windows face not only the outside of the property but through to the living room, with blinds for privacy.

Bathroom: The shared downstairs bathroom is modern and suitably appointed, with roomy corner shower, W.C and sink.

Bedroom 2: The upstairs bedroom has a queen-size bed, hanging space for clothes and a chest of drawers for more storage. There is a door leading out onto the mezzanine.

Mezzanine: A unique feature, the mezzanine overlooks the main living area of the property whilst providing views of the shared garden area, into Orford itself. A perfect place to enjoy breakfast lit through the large windows, or a glass of wine in the evening.

Outside: A patio is directly outside from the main living area with a table for four, this is situated in the main garden shared between the small number of holiday cottages of Chantry Barns.

The Barn is situated in the delightful village of Orford which is on the River Ore and boasts a 'English Heritage' Norman castle and a working river quay that serves sailors, fishermen and sightseers. The village has a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink including The Trinity at the Crown and Castle and Kings Head pub, the Butley Orford Oysterage, The Jolly Sailor and a café by the quay with lovely views over the river. Across the river is the National Trust's Orford Ness, the site of mysterious research projects in the 1950's and 60's but now a nature reserve.

River trips can be booked from Orford Quay down the river to see the area's famous avocets at the RSPB's Havergate Island. If you are eating in, good food can be purchased in the village from an award-winning butchers, Richardson's Smokery, Pinneys and also the Village Stores.
