Pet friendly Orford holiday accommodation

Three Chantry Barns, Orford is a high quality bespoke conversion of a Victorian dairy barn that once formed part of Chantry Farm. It is in a quiet corner of the town, a stone's throw from Orford's famous castle and on a delightful path to the River Ore and Orford Quay. Orford town centre is a minutes’ walk away, where you will find Ruth Watson's renowned eatery The Crown and Castle restaurant, the Kings Head, a charming pub that serves good food, an artisan bakery and a lively village store and cafe.

The property has been lovingly converted with the original beams and a solid oak staircase contributing to the property's character, while meeting all of the modern needs we have today. Upon entering you will find yourself in a small entrance hall where you can hang your coat and store your footwear. On the ground floor there's a spacious yet cosy kitchen/dining/living room, a bunk bed room and a shower room. An angled staircase leads to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms (king and twin) and a shower room. Outside there's a communal patio garden and off road parking.

Ground floor: The property enters into a small entrance hall where coat hooks and shoe racks are available. This leads to the living/kitchen/dining room, the downstairs shower room and a bunk bed room.

Living/Kitchen/Dining room: The open plan kitchen and dining area creates an good space for sociable cooking and eating, features granite worktops. There is an integrated fridge with a small freezer compartment, an integrated dishwasher, a microwave, an electric hob and oven and a washer/dryer machine. Glass French doors open from the dining area to the communal grounds outside. There is a hi-fi system with an iPod docking station to play all of your favourite music and a flat screen TV with Sky FreeSat channels and a DVD player available. The seating area has a large L-shaped sofa/chaise longue and an armchair.

Shower room 1: This room has a shower cubicle, a hand basin, a heated towel rail and W.C.

Bedroom 3: This small room has a bunk bed with full size single mattresses, a single wardrobe and a flat screen TV with a PlayStation.

First Floor: Stairs lead up from the living room to a landing/hallway, which continue on to the three upstairs rooms.

Bedroom 1: The master bedroom is at the front of the cottage, there is a king sized sleigh bed, one wood bedside table with lamp, an armchair and a double wardrobe with hanging space and drawers. The ceiling slopes upward in this room where you will see the original barn beams emphasising the character of the cottage and giving the room a very spacious feel. There is a flat screen TV with a DVD player on a side table in the room for that late night, snuggled up film.

Bedroom 2: The second bedroom has two wood framed single beds. There is a tall chest of drawers and one bedside table with lamp. This charming room also has a vaulted ceiling showing the barns original period timbers and is great for children and adult friends alike.

Shower Room: This modern shower room is complete with contemporary fittings, has a walk in shower, a hand basin, a heated towel rail and a W.C.

Outside: There are table and chairs seating four just outside the glass French doors from the dining area, perfect for an awakening outdoors breakfast or a refreshing evening drink. The outdoor grounds are communal for all Chantry Barn owners and guests, so please be mindful of your pet and belongings.

The Barn is situated in the delightful village of Orford which is on the River Ore and boasts a 'English Heritage' Norman castle and a working river quay that serves sailors, fishermen and sightseers. The village has a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink including The Trinity at the Crown and Castle and Kings Head pub, the Butley Oysterage, The Kings Head, The Jolly Sailor and a café by the quay with lovely views over the river. Across the river is the National Trust's Orford Ness, the site of mysterious research projects in the 1950's and 60's but now a nature reserve.

River trips can be booked from Orford Quay down the river to see the area's famous avocets at the RSPB's Havergate Island. If you are eating in, good food can be purchased in the village from an award-winning butchers, Richardson's Smokery, Pinneys and also the Village Stores.

All prices include bed linen and towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

The property is attached on one side to another barn, and is equipped with centrally controlled electric convector wall heaters throughout (also with individual controls), flat screen TV with FreeSat channels and DVD player in the living room, WIFI, a TV and DVD player in Bedroom 1 and a TV with PlayStation in Bedroom 3. There is an electric hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge with a small freezer compartment, microwave, washing/dryer machine, stereo with iPod docking station.

A travel cot and a high chair are available on request at the time of booking from the owner of the property.

Sorry, no smoking or unaccompanied teenagers. A well-behaved dog is welcome downstairs and must be on a leash when in the communal grounds at all times. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.

3. How to pay. When you have filled out your booking form you can choose to pay online by credit or debit card or send a cheque. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking. The balance and a £100 returnable good housekeeping deposit (subject to terms and conditions) are due six weeks before your holiday commences. Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.
