Thimble Cottage is a delightful period cottage, ideal for couples and small families, tucked away down a private lane in the heart of the village of Knodishall, just a few minutes’ drive from the famous Suffolk coastal destinations of Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Snape.  It's an ideal spot in which to relax in luxury of the cottage garden or to venture further afield into the Suffolk countryside...

Thimble Cottage has undergone a sensitive and creative refurbishment to create the quintessential Suffolk cottage ambiance, with original brick floors, a wood-burner and beamed ceiling - all set in a lovely garden with an enclosed patio for summer drinks and barbeques. 

The front door opens into the spacious sitting/dining room, with kitchen and door to bathroom, complete with bath with shower over, from there is a back door accessing the patio garden.  Up the cottage stairs from the sitting/dining room, there is a landing bedroom with a single bed and beyond that the double bedroom, with views over the front garden.

GROUND FLOOR: The front door, sheltered by a porch, leads into the living area.

LIVING/DINING ROOM: This spacious room has original brick floors and wood beams.  There is a wood-burning stove in the original hearth, a three seater sofa, flat screen TV with integrated FreeView and DVD player, in the sitting area of this room.  In the dining area there is a large window and a round table seating four.

KITCHEN: The kitchen is a bright area with a skylight and a window to the back of the cottage. There is an electric hob and oven, an integrated fridge with freezer compartment, an integrated dishwasher and a microwave.

BATHROOM: This room has a bath with a shower over it, a w.c. and a hand basin.

FIRST FLOOR: Stairs lead from the living/dining room into bedroom two.

BEDROOM 2: A single ‘walk through’ bedroom with a vaulted ceiling.  There is a bedside table with lamp, a chest of drawers and a built in wardrobe. Access to Bedroom 1 is through this bedroom.

BEDROOM 1: A lovely large room with a king size bed, bedside tables with lamps and a chest of drawers.

OUTSIDE:  There is off-road parking and a large garden to the rear of the cottage.  Outside the garden is enclosed and table and chairs are available for enjoying on beautiful days. 

This lovely holiday cottage is located less than three miles from the beach and shops of the popular seaside town of Aldeburgh and village of Thorpeness on the Suffolk coast. Aldeburgh has an excellent range of restaurants, pubs and shops and there are pretty walks around the marsh and to Thorpeness. Fresh fish can be bought from the fish huts along the beach. Thimble Cottage is tucked quietly away in Knodishall but is in walking distance to a local pub and corner store.  The Parrot & Punchbowl pub is less than a mile away – they serve nice meals in a friendly atmosphere. 

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

Thimble Cottage is equipped with gas central heating and a wood-burning stove.  Appliances include a flat screen TV with integrated FreeView, WiFi (although please note that there is no helpline support for this), a DVD player, and a CD player with an iPod docking station, electric hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment and a microwave.  There is oak flooring in the kitchen and bathroom and original wood flooring in the bedrooms.  The dining/sitting room has original brick flooring.

A travel cot and high chair are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking.

3. How to pay. When you have filled out your booking form you can choose to pay online by credit or debit card or send a cheque. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking. The balance and a £100 returnable good housekeeping deposit (subject to terms and conditions) are due six weeks before your holiday commences. Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.
