A delightful ‘English’ historic market town with a wonderful 12th century castle, which was once the refuge of Mary Tudor before she became queen in 1553.
The castle remains well preserved, allowing visitors the opportunity to walk around the castle walls and admire the stunning views of Framlingham and the surrounding countryside. The castle has plenty of games and interactive exhibits, making it the perfect place for a trip with all the family!
Visit the picturesque square, which provides an excellent range of local facilities with a variety of lovely shops, restaurants and pubs. Sitting between the Alde and Deben Valleys, Framlingham is also surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in East Suffolk, where you can find numerous foot and bridle paths to enjoy a long walk.
