"what a stunning house"
"beautifully furnished for a very comfortable stay
A beautifully presented new property in Aldeburgh with some eco-friendly features including solar panels. It is very close to the beach with wonderful, partial sea views from some of the bedrooms.
A low occupancy discount of between 20% and 30% is often available for parties of 1 - 5 people at this property depending on the time of year (the top floor will be closed off from use if a low occupancy discount is taken) - see the 'Discounts' tab on the availability calendar page for more details.
On the ground floor there’s a lovely living room and a large kitchen/dining room with patio doors leading out to a south-facing courtyard garden and off-road parking to two vehicles.
On the first floor are three bedrooms (one with a king size bed and an en-suite shower room, a double bedroom and a single bedroom) and family bathroom. On the second floor is a twin bedroom with a separate bathroom and you can book the house either with or without access to this additional floor.
There are many lovely walks nearby and the cottage welcomes one well-behaved dog.
Ground floor:
Living room: The front door leads into a living room with two sofas and a small upholstered chair, a wood-burning stove to warm up winter nights, ceramic tiled floor with under-floor heating, a flat screen TV, DVD player and Sky ‘freesat’ channels.
Kitchen/Dining room: A spacious room with a handmade kitchen, a round wooden table and chairs and glass patio doors which can be pulled back to give direct access to the courtyard garden. Appliances include a large electric Britannia range cooker with five hobs and a wide oven/grill, a free standing tall fridge-freezer, a Neff dishwasher, microwave and an extractor fan.
Cloakroom: with a w.c, hand basin, and a Bosch washer/dryer machine.
1st floor: Stairs from the ground floor hallway lead up to the first floor.
Bedroom 1: This bedroom has a king size bed and a lovely view of the sea to the right. The view ahead is partially hidden by trees in the summer whilst in the winter time you can see all the way to Thorpeness across the pretty marshes.
En-suite shower room: attached to bedroom 1, this room has a shower, w.c. and sink.
Bedroom 2: A small south-facing double bedroom with bedside tables, hooks on the wall for hanging clothes and a chest of drawers.
Bedroom 3: A small single bedroom with a chest of drawers and clothes hanging space.
Family bathroom 1: There’s a bath and hand-held shower attachment, a w.c. and a hand basin.
Bedroom 4: This room is set up as a twin bedroom and has a built-in wardrobe. The room has a super view of the open marshland and beach to the left, particularly in the winter time.
Family bathroom 2: There is bath with a hand-held shower attachment, a separate shower cubicle, a w.c. and a hand basin.
Outside: There is a pretty gravel and planting garden to the front and an enclosed paved south-facing courtyard at the back with garden furniture and planting. There’s a handy brick shed with a freezer and space to store bicycles. Steps lead up from the back garden to the garage. There is room for a medium-sized car in the garage and an additional car can be parked off-road in front of the garage. The front door is accessed via a flight of steps.
The house is named after a succulent plant with yellow flowers that thrives in dry stones and shingle.
The self-catering holiday home is about a minute’s walk to the beach and around a five minute walk to Aldeburgh’s renowned restaurants, cafes, boutique shops and art galleries.
The village of Thorpeness, with it’s pub, tea rooms and brasserie is a mile away, reached by a pretty coastal path and road. There are views of the beach all year round and they are particularly spectacular in the winter time when the trees are bare.
All prices include 100% cotton bed linen and towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.
The property is equipped with an efficient eco-friendly solar panel and ‘air-to-water’ heating and hot water system, a wood-burning stove, an electric hob and oven, standard size dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washing machine with built-in tumble dryer, microwave, TV, DVD player, CD/radio player, and garden furniture. A travel cot, high chair and stair-gate are available on request.
Sorry, no smoking or unaccompanied teenagers permitted at the property.
