All three bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, together with a family bathroom and en-suite shower room incorporating a wet room system. On the first floor is a stunning and spacious open plan reception room, incorporating an individually designed and well equipped kitchen; contemporary living and dining areas overlooking the garden.

3 Ogilvie Hall shares a communal garden at the front with individual designated patio areas and has an allocated parking space at the rear. There is also communal cycle parking.

Ground floor:

The front door is located at the rear of Ogilvie Hall, next to the allocationed parking, and opens into a hallway with stairs to the first floor and doors to the three bedrooms and bathroom. There is under floor heating throughout the ground floor with the hallway having a wooden floor and all bedrooms carpeted.

Bedroom 1

This sunny east facing room has been beautifully furnished with a king-size bed with matching bedroom furniture, including a wardrobe.

Ensuite shower room

Beautifully tiled with ceramic tiles to walls and floor, this ensuite has contemporary white sanitary wear with chrome fittings including a wet room style walk in shower with shower rose, basin set into a vanity unit, storage drawers, WC, heated towel rail and shaver socket.

Bedroom 2

Opening off the hallway, this light bedroom has a double-bed with wrought iron bedstead together with vintage reclaimed furniture including a large chest of drawers and bedside tables with lamps.

Bathroom

Conveniently located for bedrooms 2 and 3, this contemporary bathroom with ceramic tiles to walls and floor has a wet room style shower with shower rose, large bath with central tap, basin set into a vanity unit with mirror above plus shaver socket, heated towel rail and WC.

First Floor:

The feature painted staircase has a striped runner leading directly into the bright and spacious open plan living accommodation. This stunning double aspect room features underfloor heating and makes optimum use of existing architectural features in a contemporary context, providing a wonderful area for socializing with high, vaulted ceilings and classical leaded windows.

Kitchen area

This modern kitchen has individually designed units with wooden framed doors and granite worktops concealing integrated dishwasher, fridge, freezer, two electrical ovens and induction hob with extractor hood. There is also a free standing microwave and an island – ideal for food preparation – as well as informal seating with two bar stools.

Living/Dining area

With large windows overlooking the garden and Dolphin Inn beyond, this is a lovely light area to relax in, furnished with a range of sofas and armchairs with a table, four chairs and bench for dining. Equipment includes a flat screen TV, DVD player and HDD recorder as well as an iPod docking station.

The wall mounted flue-less gas fire will take the chill off the house in the winter months.

Outside

3 Ogilvie Hall is one of five properties in the iconic Ogilvie Hall, which has recently been converted to residential accommodation. It shares a communal garden at the front with individual designated patio areas and has an allocated parking space at the rear, next to the front door. There is also communal cycle parking.

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity, plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

This contemporary terraced self-catering holiday cottage is equipped with thermostat controlled under floor heating on the ground floor and a wall mounted flueless fire in the living accommodation on the first floor. Appliances include a TV with FreeSat HD+, Blue Ray DVD/CD player, DAV/Internet/FM radio and ipod docking station, there are also wall mounted speaker points throughout. The kitchen is well equipped with integrated fridge, freezer and dishwasher as well as two electric ovens, an induction hob with extractor and free standing microwave and washing machine.

Thorpeness, a charming holiday village largely designed by the Scottish playwright and barrister Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie a century ago, is just a mile and a half along the beach from Aldeburgh with it’s excellent eateries, pubs, variety of shops, art galleries and independent cinema.

Ogilvie (after whom the Hall was named) decided to create an idyllic model seaside village, inspired by the writings of JM Barrie, author of Peter Pan and guests are sure to enjoy Meare (local for lake) with several miles of shallow water and islands which can be explored in the summer months by rowing boat or kayak.

A number of shops and eateries, including the village shop and excellent Dolphin Inn (both across the road from 3 Ogilvie Hall), The Kitchen and popular Meare café are within walking distance. The iconic House in the Clouds, hovering on the skyline, the shingle beach and Country Club with tennis courts and games rooms, often available during half term holidays as well as the summer months are just a stone’s throw away.

For the sporting visitors, there’s an award winning 18-hole golf course and the area is ideal for cycling and walking, both along the coast and inland.
