The property

The hall flows through to the attractive bespoke kitchen at the back of the house has a separate dining area with door to the courtyard and wet room – ideal for a shower after the beach. The cottage is opposite Bartholomew Green with St Edmunds’ Church, considered to be one of Suffolk’s finest churches, to the side and both can be seen from the beautiful bay windows in the living room and the master bedroom on the first floor. Additional accommodation consists of a single room and zip and link bed which can be made into twin or king-size with the bathroom located for easy access from all three bedrooms. A secluded courtyard style garden at the back has a bistro-style table and four chairs. There is no allocated parking for the cottage, however you can park for an hour opposite or in a bay by the church which is unrestricted on a first come basis. Ground Floor Step up to the porch with original floor tiles and part glazed door to the entrance hall with original wooden floorboards and stairs to the first floor. There’s a door to the living room and the hall leads directly to the dining/kitchen. Living Room A pleasant light room with bay window seat where you can sit and enjoy the view of Bartholomew Green and offset views of St Edmunds Church, reputed to be one of Suffolk’s finest churches. There’s ample space to relax in the two leather sofas and enjoy a fire in the original working fireplace with tiled hearth and cast iron insert; equipment includes a flat-screen TV with FreeSat channels. Kitchen An extremely stylish bespoke kitchen with wooden worktops; equipped with Bosch electric oven, ceramic hob with extractor, under counter fridge and separate freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The dining area at the side is ideal for meals with friends and family with a hand made a wooden table with two benches and two chairs. A stable door opens to the courtyard. Wet Room Conveniently located next to the back door so ideal for a quick shower after a trip to the beach, there’s a walk-in shower, basin, and WC. First floor The carpeted stairs lead to a landing with the three bedrooms, all with original wooden floors, and the bathroom opening off it. Master bedroom Beautiful bright bedroom with bay window overlooking Bartholomew Green & with offset views of St Edmunds Church. The original fireplace with cast iron inset is a feature as are the original lime-washed floorboards. A bespoke king size bed sits between bedside cabinets and there’s a wardrobe with drawers and hanging space plus an upholstered chair. King Size zip link bedroom At the back of the house with view over the rooftops towards the Lighthouse, this room has the original feature fireplace with cast iron insert, is furnished with hand made oak king size zip link beds which can be configured into two 2'6" singles on request. There’s a bedside table and wardrobe. Single bedroom A good sized single room with a distant view of the Lighthouse from the window; beautifully furnished with a single bed and chest of drawers. Bathroom Modern bathroom comprising of bath with shower rose over, low-level WC, pedestal wash basin with heated towel rail. The window gives natural light. Outside Apostle Cottage is tucked away in a cul de sac next to the beautiful St Edmunds Church with Bartholomew Green in front making this one of the quieter locations in central Southwold. To the rear of the property is a small courtyard area from where you can see both the church and the lighthouse. Pedestrian access to adjoining properties. There’s no allocated parking for the cottage, however there are usually spaces outside the cottage restricted to an hour’s parking and there are bays next to the church with unrestricted parking on a first come basis.

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
