"What a delightful house with everything we needed. It is so rare to stay in a holiday home with such nice furniture, cooking utensils and everyday items and so great to have 2 parking spaces and space for bikes. The house is great for families and we would certainly stay at Poplars again!"
"Poplars was so nice that it allowed us to switch off and really enjoy the delights of Aldeburgh. This was our first time in Suffolk and the weather has been glorious! Poplars is an ideal family property with plenty of space for the children, comfy beds, a sunny garden and really well equipped!"
This bright and airy, well-presented house is situated just a 10-15 minute stroll from the beach and the centre of the seaside town of Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast. It’s ideal for families and friends relaxing or looking for an active holiday, with plenty of space to store bikes, golf clubs and bird-watching equipment indoors in the large games room. It’s on the edge of the old Thorpeness to Aldeburgh railway line – now a popular walking and cycling route. Aldeburgh and Thorpeness both have renowned golf courses.
On the ground floor there’s a large open plan living/dining room, a separate kitchen, a cloakroom, a large games room. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (1 king, 1 double, 1 single) and a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Outside there’s off road parking for two vehicles and a large enclosed patio garden.
Ground floor:
The front door leads into a hallway with
Cloakroom: w.c and washbasin.
Living/Dining room: There are two leather sofas (1 two-seater, and 1 two-and-a-half seater), a matching tub chair, a coffee table and rug, a 32” HD TV with a FreeSat HD box, and a DVD player. The dining area has a modern wooden table with a Cath Kidston oil cloth cover and six chairs. Sideboard with selection of games and bookcase with books, DVDs and CDs. CD player/radio and Bose IPod dock. Glazed patio doors lead straight out to a large enclosed patio back garden.
Kitchen: This has an electric hob and oven, a freestanding tall fridge-freezer, microwave and a slimline dishwasher. You’ll also find a washing machine in the games room. A large window looks out to the pretty patio back garden.
Games room/utility room: There’s a large games room with table football (watch out, it could get competitive!), a Nintendo Wii, a washing machine, and doors to the front drive and to the back garden. This is an ideal space to store your items for the beach, or bigger things such as bicycles, golf clubs and other sporting equipment.
First floor:
Bedroom 1: A king bedroom with bedside tables, a large built-in wardrobe, and a dressing table with drawers.
Bedroom 2: A double bedroom with bedside tables and a dressing table with drawers. A wardrobe is available on the landing just outside the bedroom door.

Family bathroom: There’s a bath and a separate shower, a w.c. and a wash basin.
Outside: At the front there is off road parking for two cars, and further on road parking can be found nearby. At the rear is a large patio garden that catches the sun throughout the day. There’s a large oak table and 6 chairs with a parasol and a BBQ. Beyond the garden are the Poplar trees that give the house it’s name, on the edge of the old disused steam railway line, now a walking and cycle route.
This terraced property is in a cul-de-sac estate just off Leiston Road in Aldeburgh. A footpath leads through to the Church Farm Road that runs to the beach. The beach is just 0.4 miles away, where you’ll see Maggie Hambling’s famous Scallop sculpture. Aldeburgh is a popular traditional seaside town with many excellent restaurants and independent shops. The High Street is a 15 minute walk away or a short drive. Within a short walk of the house is a Co-op supermarket, recreational fields and tennis courts.
