This pretty period cottage is in the wonderful village of Orford which is on the River Ore, close to Snape and Aldeburgh. Within a short stroll are Orford's renowned restaurants, the Butley Oysterage and Ruth Watson's Trinity Bistro at the Crown and Castle, as well two good pubs and an artisan bakery. The river quay is a few minutes stroll away where you'll find breathtaking views of the River Ore and Orford Ness and a pretty riverside footpath.
On the ground floor there's a lovely living room with an open fire, a dining room and a kitchen. The first floor has two bedrooms (a double and a twin) and a large bathroom. On the second floor is a king size bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Outside there's a welcoming patio garden.
The front door leads into a hallway, to the stairs and the door to the living room.
Living room: With a lovely open fire, there are two two-seater sofas and two tub chairs, a coffee table, and shelves full of books. There's a flat screen TV with FreeSat channels and an integrated DVD/CD player.
Dining Room: There's an oak table and six chairs, a Suffolk pine 18th century side board, and an original fireplace (not in use).
Kitchen: The large kitchen has a breakfast table and chairs and a door to the back patio. Appliances include two ovens, an induction electric hob, a dishwasher, washing machine, a fridge with a freezer compartment and a microwave.
First floor:
Stairs lead from the hallway to a first floor landing.
Bedroom 1: This has a double size bed, a wardrobe and two bedside tables, and an original fire place (not in use) and varnished floorboards.
Bedroom 2: A twin bedroom with a chest of drawers and a wardrobe and carpet.
Bathroom: There's a bath with a shower over it, a w.c. and hand basin, and painted pine floorboards.
2nd floor:
Bedroom 3: This large room has a king size bed with en-suite shower room. The room has a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. There are partially sloping ceilings and lovely views over the Orford roof tops.
En-suite to Bedroom 3: This has a shower, a w.c. and a hand basin.
Outside: At the rear of the property a passage way leads past some outbuildings to an enclosed patio with a table and chairs. On road parking is usually available nearby.
The cottage is situated in the delightful village of Orford which is on the River Ore and boasts a 'English Heritage' Norman castle and working river quay serving sailors, fishermen and sightseers. The village has a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink including The Trinity at the Crown and Castle and Kings Head pub, the Butley Oysterage, The Kings Head, The Jolly Sailor and a café by the quay with lovely views over the river. Across the river is the National Trust's Orford Ness, the site of mysterious research projects in the 1950's and 60's but now a nature reserve.
River trips can be booked from Orford Quay down the river to see the area's famous avocets at the RSPB's Havergate Island. If you are eating in, good food can be purchased in the village from an award-winning butchers, Richardson's Smokery, Pinneys and also the Village Stores.
All prices include bed linen and towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.
This mid-terrace cottage is equipped with efficient electric radiators throughout, an open fire in the living room, a flat screen TV with FreeSat channels and an integrated DVD/CD player, electric hob and two ovens, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and washing machine, and WiFi broadband access.
A travel cot and a high chair are available on request at the time of booking from the owner of the property.

A well behaved dog is welcome downstairs. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the online booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.

3. How to pay. When you have filled out your booking form you can choose to pay online by credit or debit card or send a cheque. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking. The balance and a £100 returnable good housekeeping deposit (subject to terms and conditions) are due six weeks before your holiday commences. Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.
