Suffolk countryside luxury holiday accommodation

"Wow! We loved the minimal and continental interiors reflecting the peace and tranquillity of the fileds, sheep and outlook. It was wonderful to find a spot where the advertising info and pics are even better when living in the real thing!. An absolute gem, throughly enjoyable space - we really could have not asked for me!."

"An amazing place with fantastic terrace in such a lovely part of the country. We will definitely be back!"

The Workshop is self-catering for two at its most chic! This spacious contemporary conversion of a Victorian stable building brings the best in 21st century design to a delightful period building in a stunning countryside setting.

Designed by the owner in collaboration with Pitman Tozer architects, the Workshop is an impressive former farm outbuilding standing at the edge of a one acre wildflower meadow.

Attention to detail is apparent throughout the building and the highly enthusiastic feedback from guests shows that the good design is appreciated! Sliding/folding patio doors lead from the oak deck into a large open plan living space where the focal point is a suspended spherical steel fireplace designed and made in France by Dominique Imbert.

Facing it is a generous corner sofa/chaise longue with views out to the meadow. Other features include a large flat screen TV, DVD player and Sky Freesat, a side table designed by 20th century designer Eero Saarinen and Tolomeo Mega floor lamp.

The dining area is furnished with a table and chairs created by the Danish furniture designer Arne Jacobson in the 1950s, including four iconic ‘series 7’ chairs. The well equipped kitchen has a built-in Smeg cooker and a white stone surface with sleek grey units underneath.

A curving white wall leads to the bedroom where you'll find a king size bed with crisp white 100% cotton sheets and duvet cover, a double wardrobe and an iPod docking station. Double aspect windows give welcome views across the meadow.

In the spacious bathroom is a large double-ended bath, wc and sink along with a huge circular shower cubicle.

Outside a generous oak decking provides a delightful suntrap (when the sun is out!) and the four patio doors slide back to extend the open plan living space to the outside. The meadow gives a picturesque backdrop and changes throughout the year – arrive in the late spring and it is likely to be awash with buttercups, in the autumn populated by friendly sheep and in the winter visited by moorhens and other wildlife.

The Workshop is within easy reach of the Suffolk Coast as well as being an ideal location from which to explore East Suffolk's villages and market towns. It is located between Peasenhall and Badingham, around four miles from Framlingham, in the four acre grounds of a 16th century Suffolk farmhouse.

All prices include bed linen and towels, heating oil and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a chilled-out start. A travel cot and a high chair are available on request for non-walking babies.

The property is equipped with central heating, wood-burning fire, large flat screen TV, DVD player, Sky Freesat, Ipod docking station, Smeg elecric hob and oven, slimline dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment and washing machine. Private parking for two cars.

Sorry no infants of walking age or older, no smoking, pets or unaccompanied teenagers permitted at the property. You may sometimes hear some road noise from the A1120 tourist route, which is the other side of the meadow and beyond a neighbouring house.
