Two bedroom holiday cottage in Aldeburgh

This historic sixteenth century cottage is centrally located on Aldeburgh’s ever-popular High Street, close to the famous shops, restaurants and of course the beach. It’s one of Aldeburgh’s oldest houses, and highly unusual for the town - inside this quirky holiday cottage you’ll find a mass of original beams and inglenook fireplaces.

On the ground floor there’s a large living room with a wood-burning stove, a dining room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Upstairs you’ll find two bedrooms (a king and a twin). At the back there is a raised patio garden.

The front door leads into a small hallway and doors to the living room and dining room.

Living room: At the heart of this room is a wood burning stove in a large inglenook fireplace to keep you warm and cosy on cooler nights. There are two leather two-seater sofas and a tub chair, a large coffee table, a TV with the four main terrestrial channels, a Nintendo Wii and an iPod docking station.

Dining room: This has a modern glass-topped table and six chairs with high backs. The kitchen is reached through the dining room.

Kitchen: There’s a stainless steel fronted gas hob and electric oven, slimline dishwasher, washing machine, and a freestanding Smeg fridge-freezer.

Lobby: the kitchen leads to a small lobby with access to the back door and bathroom.

Bathroom: There’s a bath with a shower over it, a w.c. and a hand basin.

First floor:

Stairs from the hallway by the front door lead up to a small landing and doors to the two bedrooms.

Bedroom 1: This large and unusual bedroom has high, beamed sloping ceilings and an original brick fireplace (not in use) that give the room a dramatic effect. There’s a king size oak sleigh bed and bedside tables, plus a wardrobe and chest of drawers with both drawers and hanging space. The gas boiler is located in this bedroom.

Bedroom 2: This has twin beds, a chest of drawers and hooks on the walls with coat hangers.

Outside: There’s a raised patio garden at the rear of the property reached by a flight of steps from the back door. A table and 4 chairs make outside dining possible.

This mid-terrace cottage is centrally located on Aldeburgh’s High Street, and is very close to the town’s popular shops, restaurants and the beach.

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen and towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

The property is equipped with gas central heating throughout and a wood burning stove, a gas hob and electric oven, a Smeg fridge-freezer, slimline dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, flat screen TV with the four main terrestrial channels, DVD player, a Nintendo Wii, an iPod docking station and Wifi.

A travel cot and a high chair are available on request from the owners – please mention on the online booking form.

Sorry, no smoking, or unaccompanied teenagers permitted at the property. The gas boiler is located in bedroom 1. One well behaved dog is available and must be stated at the time of booking.

3. How to pay. When you have filled out your booking form you can choose to pay online by credit or debit card or send a cheque. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking. The balance and a £100 returnable good housekeeping deposit (subject to terms and conditions) are due six weeks before your holiday commences. Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.
