About us 

Best of Suffolk is passionate about marketing stylish self-catering holiday accommodation that’s presented to the highest standards, together with helpful and friendly customer service and real-time, online booking. This innovative business is run by husband and wife team Alex and Naomi Tarry, who have over 15 years experience letting and renovating properties.

You could say we’re quite fussy about the holiday cottages that we promote – we will only take on properties that we’re confident will meet the high expectations of our guests.  Customers’ expectations of holiday cottage accommodation are changing and we’re rising to the challenge of meeting their high expectations. And because we only market properties that meet our high standards we are able achieve high occupancy rates for property owners.

The high quality photography, detailed descriptions, location maps, floor plans and visitors comments are all designed to capture our guests’ imagination and inspire them to book one of our wonderful properties.  Supporting our friendly and professional customer service, we operate a real-time, online booking system to ensure that guests can place their booking, and pay for it, whatever time of night or day.

Our Service to Owners

We aim to generate the best return possible on your property by offering a marketing and bookings service which includes taking 150-200 high quality photographs of your property and promoting your property on its own page on our website; we generate enquiries and take bookings through our real-time online booking system; dealing with correspondence, payments and queries quickly and efficiently so you don’t miss out on potential bookings. We don’t charge our guests hidden extras such as fuel supplements and booking fees.

How will we promote your Property?

Our highly successful website is subject to continual development and performance monitoring so we can ensure we are maximising bookings.  We also seek editorial coverage in the quality press.   Best of Suffolk properties have recently been featured in the Sunday Telegraph, Ideal Home magazine, The Guardian, She magazine, the Independent on Sunday, the East Anglian Daily Times, Suffolk magazine and Move or Improve magazine.

Best of Suffolk sends regular newsletters by email to subscribers (click here to subscribe).

These highlight new properties and promote late availability and special offers. We also receive a large number of repeat bookings – in 2008 one in five bookings was a repeat visitor – and a great many ‘word of mouth’ recommendations.

Will guests look after my home?

We’re pleased to say that we experience very few problems. We make it clear to guests that they are expected to respect your property and we take a £100 good housekeeping deposit in case of any major problems and we act as intermediary in any cases of dispute to try to quickly resolve the situation.

What happens when I want to stay at the property myself?

It’s your property and you can book it yourself for up to four weeks for personal use from Easter to the end of October and over Christmas/New Year, and for as many weeks as you like outside these periods.  Additional peak season dates can also be booked for personal use at short notice where there is late availability.

I don’t have a house to rent out yet, can you help me decide which one to buy?

Absolutely!  This is a good time to talk to us as we can advise on the types of properties that rent out the most successfully.  The style and the quality of the property and its location really count along with your passion for presenting it to a high standard.
