Suffolk holiday accommodation in the countryside.

This property is at the top of the league of barn conversions, providing guests with not only an ultra-stylish interior, but also a very spacious and well equipped open plan living area and three beautiful bedrooms. This property is ideal for families or friends to relax in the tranquil Suffolk countryside, whilst being only a short drive from the coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold, and the historic market town of Framlingham. 

Guests arriving at Hernsey Wood Barn will park outside on the gravel drive and enter the large, vaulted living space with its large eating area, snug living room and beautifully designed kitchen, upstairs are the three bedrooms, the master with an en-suite shower room, and the family bathroom all accessed by a dramatic gallery providing wonderful views of the living space below.

Ground Floor:  Two large double glass doors open into a fantastic open entrance hall that follows into the dining area; the ceilings are vaulted exposing the beautiful original beams.

Open Plan Living/Kitchen/Dining Room:  A large table seating eight sits in the middle of this spacious area.  The sitting room has a magnificent hearth with a wood burner set within.  There are two large two-seater sofas, a long bench to seat three, a writing desk, a 42” flat screen TV with FreeView channels and a DVD player. The kitchen to the other side of the table is very well equipped.  There is a double Belfast sink set into a wood worktop and a five-ring, double oven gas range with slate worktops surrounding it.  A large central island also has a slate worktop and there is a breakfast table seating four and a two-seater sofa. All appliances are Bosch – which includes a dishwasher, under the worktop fridge and a separate under the worktop freezer.  Finally the kitchen includes a larder with plenty of shelves for a week worth of food.

Utility Room:  Off the entrance hall there is the utility room, which has a Belfast sink, a Bosch washing machine and a wine fridge.

Cloakroom:  Next to the stairs from the entrance hall there is a cloakroom with a hand basin and a W.C.

First Floor:  From the entrance area a set of angled stairs lead to a small landing where to the right and up a few steps, is a galleried walkway to a hallway to Bedroom 1.  Or going straight and up a few steps, leads to a large landing which accesses Bedroom 1, Bedroom 2, the bathroom, and the laddered stairs to the loft space.

Bedroom 1:  This room has a king-size bed, a bedside table, a chest of drawers and hooks and hangers on the wall for hanging space.

En-suite Shower Room:  En-suite to Bedroom 1, there is a tiled shower with a chrome rain head, a hand basin, a heated towel rail and a W.C.

Bedroom 2:  A spacious double room with a small cabinet as a bedside table, a chest of drawers and hooks and hangers on the back of the door for hanging space.

Bedroom 3:  This small room has a double bed with a bedside table, a chest and hooks and hangers on the wall for hanging space.

Bathroom:  A large bathroom where there is a bath with an overhead shower, a hand basin and W.C.

Second Floor:  From the first floor landing there is a set of laddered stairs, between Bedroom 2 and 3, which lead to a galleried loft space.

Loft:  The galleried loft space overlooks the magnificent house below; there is a direct view down over the dinner table and into the kitchen.  There is a corner leather sofa and a computer screen to plug your laptop into.  This space is perfect for catching a peaceful reading moment or for the kids to use while dinner is under way and you want them out from under your feet!

Outside:  The peaceful countryside lies beyond the neatly maintained grounds of Hernsey Wood Barn; there is a pond, a playhouse for children to entertain themselves while the adults sit around a table seating six in the patio.  There is a BBQ and plenty off-road parking.

Hernsey Wood Barn is within easy reach of the Suffolk Coast as well as being an ideal location from which to explore East Suffolk's villages and market towns. It is located between Peasenhall and Framlingham.

Peasenhall village has facilities, which include a very popular pub serving fresh local produce, a village stores, a delicatessen specialising in cured hams and Spanish produce and a family butchers selling produce from local farms.

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of fizz and nibbles to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

This self-catering holiday accommodation is equipped with a wood burning stove, and oil fired underfloor heating.  Appliances include a 42-inch flat screen TV with FreeView channels and DVD player, WiFi broadband, a five-ring and double oven gas range, a microwave, Bosch appliances including a dishwasher, an undercounter fridge, an undercounter freezer, and a washing machine.  There are brick and tiled floors on the ground floor, and wood flooring on the first and second floors, there are rugs throughout the house.

A travel cot and high chair are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking.

Sorry, no smoking or unaccompanied teenagers.

A well-behaved dog is welcome on request at the time of booking, subject to our terms and conditions.  The garden is enclosed if you shut the main gates (there is netting in the hedges).

There is an unfenced pond in the grounds.

The second floor loft has ladder stairs, which are open at the top so please take care when moving in the area so not to slip down them.

There are a few beams in the property which measure 5'7" from the floor.

The loft area has sloping ceilings so please mind your head.

The balance and a £100 returnable good housekeeping deposit (subject to terms and conditions) are due six weeks before your holiday commences. Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.
