Self catering holiday in the Suffolk countryside
Goat Cottage, Marlesford, Suffolk
About the property
If you are looking to get away from the hussle and bustle of the coast (but still within easy striking distance) in the glorious Suffolk countryside, Goat Cottage is perfectly situated.
Although not far from the A12 at Marlesford, this cottage feels like a million miles away. You'll approach it the down a farm track, through an idyllic hamlet of farm cottages and barns at the end of which you'll find Goat Cottage - a former cart shed until its recent renovation. It's now a countryside hideaway with two king bedrooms.
There are several pretty walks from the property to and around the conservation village of Marlesford and you'll find some gorgeous, friendly pygmy goats living close to the cottage!
The main entrance takes you into a handy utility area with plenty of space for your boots and coats, and then on into a large central open plan living area with a tiled floor. Two double patio doors lead out to the patio giving the room a light and spacious feel. The living area has two 2-seater brown leather sofas, a wood-burning stove for winter nights, a small flat screen TV, Digital freeview, DVD and CD players plus a selection of DVDs and books.
The kitchen/dining area has a pine table and four chairs, a cooker, fridge freezer and microwave.
A hallway leads through to two good-sized bedrooms, both with pine king beds, chests of drawers, canvas wardrobes and double glass doors leading onto the patio.
The family bathroom next to the utility area has a bath with shower over, wc, sink, heated towel rail, tiled floor and a Velux window. One of the original Suffolk red brick walls has been left exposed giving the bathroom additional character.
Outside is a patio with a table and chairs, a large south-facing lawn, a large car park and a paddock complete with those friendly pygmy goats. There are lovely views from the kitchen/dining area of the house to the countryside beyond.
