6 Coastguard Cottages, The Terrace, Aldeburgh
We had a lovely time in Aldeburgh and enjoyed our week at 6 Coastguard Cottages. The accommodation is so centrally located, well-equipped, tastefully decorated. It was a very comfortable stay and the kids loved the toy box and the DVD’s!
Our (very well behaved dog) spent many happy hours curled up on the window seat in the kitchen. Lovely cottage – very convenient – sounds as though everyone in this guest book, including us, will be back – better not pick the same week!
What an amazing cottage – you have clearly put a lot of thought into every little detail. We have really appreciated escaping from our hectic life, relaxing in your peaceful cottage yet enjoying all the great treats in Aldeburgh High Street.
We love it here – peaceful, brilliant location. Everything at hand, lovely town. We loved the house – you thought of everything – it was especially helpful and a nice touch to offer basic stuff like kitchen bits for washing up and condiments. Fantastic renovation!! Amazing seeing the pictures!
We really enjoyed our stay here and we all had a good time! We really enjoyed all the pubs here! We recommend the Oysterage in Orford and The Anchor in Walberswick. We also had a lovely time cycling and boating at Thorpeness.
A fantastic week in Aldeburgh and 6 Coastguard Cottages was the perfect base. Recommend The Lighthouse restaurant – we found it was the best in the town.
We have had a wonderful holiday with perfect weather and superb accommodation. We have looked at the photos of the house before its conversion and congratulate you on the final result. All we needed was to hand and in the best of taste.

We have enjoyed a magical week, courtesy of a beautiful cottage, the relaxed atmosphere of Aldeburgh and the first real week of summer – temperatures approaching 30°C every day. We loved the boating lake, the beach, the fish huts on the beach, Thorpeness and Snape Maltings, and enjoyed a fantastic day at Easton farm – perfect for any family with young children. Our 3 year old loved it! This is our second trip to Aldeburgh and its attraction remains as strong. We will be back…in spite of the very long journey!
A beautifully renovated cottage, which provided a perfect base for our stay. I particularly enjoyed jumping in and out of bed to close the attic window, dodging the thunder, lightning and heavy rain!!
We’ve stayed in Aldeburgh every August for many years and 6 Coastguard Cottages is by far the nicest property we have rented – well renovated, comfortable and cosy, and brilliantly located. We’ll be back…

We have thoroughly enjoyed our time in Aldeburgh made even more enjoyable staying in this beautiful cottage.
Sadly, we have to leave this sunny morning – weather good all week. Caught some fish, got stung by one nasty fish, ate some great seafood at Orford Oysterage. Great walks with dogs along the river here and at Orford. All in all, a lovely week in a lovely home – hope to return some day.
We have just had the most special family holiday! Amazingly the sun shone all week-end so crabbing, rowing on the mere at Thorpeness – sailing boats at Aldeburgh and lots of walking and of course eating and ‘wine’ !! We all loved the house and it more than fulfilled our expectations – just loved the kitchen, diner, deck area – just perfect for a family. There was nothing we could have faulted – lovely décor, fab showers, loos etc – would just have liked more time!! Thank you the ‘Roper family’ for a really memorable family time – we all hope to come back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week in Aldeburgh as usual. Cottage is lovely is and location excellent. Suzi & Clara, our cocker spaniels loved the window seat. All the family were very comfortable and baby Francesca appeared to like her first experience of high chair dining.
Lovely break – enjoyed the scallop, Martello Tower, Minsmere, Southwold, a meal at Regatta, snacks at Munchies and window shopping in Aldeburgh! Enjoyed the house and particularly bird level view of buildings and sea – a stunning view in the morning with the sun rising over the sea!

We had a fun week – boating at Thorpeness, crabbing, walking, playing boules on the beach, fish & chips, scrabble, and lego! Whoever planned the cottage did a fantastic job of using every inch to the max. The location couldn’t have been better. Just needed a volume button for the seagulls!
What a beautiful cottage! We have really enjoyed our first trip to Suffolk and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ‘base’ for our week here!

Returning with the family to the Suffolk of my childhood. Aldeburgh has changed much in 30 years, but remains a fantastic base for a holiday. We loved our multi-level based (being able to put an entire storey between you and your children has advantages!). Like everybody else we’ll be back.
The best holiday we have ever had! The accommodation was perfect (we have all strong legs from the stairs). So great to be able to walk onto the seafront just like that. I stole the master suite from my parents and enjoyed being gently woken up by the waves stroking the pebbles. Great place for cycling and running (everyday)! Played golf at Thorpeness and Aldeburgh, both great but quite hard! Thank you for making the place so brilliant!
I have enjoyed it the most out of all the holidays! The house is stunning and I would be very happy to come back to the lovely sound of the seagulls and the sea!!!!!!

We have been to Aldeburgh many times before and love the place. The cottage is superb – very cleverly re-designed – well done! A perfect location – made for a very relaxing easy week-end for us all. Great breakfast at Munchies and a lovely dinner at The Lighthouse. We will be back!

Without doubt the best cottage I have stayed in. Perfect for a week on one’s own. Long walks on beach and marshes – coffee and croissants from Munchies. Bliss!
This is a fabulous cottage! So convenient for everything and beautifully kitted out. Now need to get to the gym to work off Munchies’ breakfasts!
