Aldeburgh Cottage
Visitor book comments
“We’ve had an absolutely wonderful week! The cottage is amazing! Spent many happy hours in the candlelit bath with a glass of wine! Have enjoyed lots of delicious meals cooked on the very chi chi Smeg range!
“We had a great week at the lovely little cottage. We loved the open fire and décor of the place, very cosy and relaxing. We are massive Cornwall fans but decided to experience a different British coastline, we were not disappointed with Suffolk” We had lots of meals out but recommend Golden Key at Snape – good home cooked food and Child friendly”
“Everything great! We will be back”
“Over the past 20 years we have been regular visitors to Aldeburgh, staying in many cottages and all the hotels. We found this cottage well appointed, comfortable, warm and convenient. We hope to return”
“Thank you for the wonderful welcome with the biscuits, chocolates and wine. Beautiful modern cottage, and so great to have household goods supplied. Lovely towels and comfy bed! We hope very much to be back here soon”
“We’ve just had the most relaxing week at the lovely cottage! Highlights include; the Regatta restaurant (v. child friendly), the boating lake at Thorpeness, fish and chips (more than once!) and a trip to Orford. Eastern Farm Park is well worth a visit with young children. Thanks for the warm welcome + wine! Our first trip to Suffolk but I’m sure we’ll be back!”
“We had a most fantastic time, and didn’t want to leave, but if we eat one more fish and chips meal we won’t fit in the car. Thank you Naomi for the use of your lovely cottage, we will be back”
“We love this place – both Aldeburgh and the cottage. It’s a wonderful base for our perfect Aldeburgh day, which begins with a trip to the bakers for the best bacon sandwich bread we’ve found. Sitting on the beach on a sunny morning is one of favourite things. And we have to drag ourselves away to buy fresh fish from the fisherman’s huts before they close. Then a drink at the Cross Keys (if it’s not too chilly, the outside tables are a great place for people watching) followed by lunch at 152 as a first preference. After lunch a wander around the shops (we’re particularly keen on Lawsons, which has fabulous fish cakes, and the shoe shop next door is good too) and a look in the estate agents’ windows, where we fantasise happily about a different sort of life. Early evening, if the lifeboat is doing one of it’s exercises, that's a particular bonus. Then back to the cottage for a fire, a bath, cooking the fish we bought earlier, and a promise to ourselves that tomorrow we really will go and do something proper”
“Had a great time in this lovely cottage – loved Aldeburgh + surrounding area especially walk along the beach to Thorpeness, Snape Maltings (good for a rainy afternoon!); Southwold + Walberswick; walk from Dunwich Heath to Dunwich; Orford + Castle; and finally fish and chips! Thanks for the wine. We will be back!
“Mum and I have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aldeburgh Cottage – its comfortable, has all the mod cons and is “just perfick!” We’ve enjoyed sitting in the sunshine having coffee on the patio…we’d love to come back again – hopefully you’ll have some vacancies next year”
“Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need, plus a bit more”
“A lovely stay in a wonderful cottage! I would most definitely come again! Liked the courtyard best!”
“Lovely cottage! Superb weather. Wonderful sunsets over the boat club. Excellent meal at Prezzo. Flounder + lobster fresh from the sea. Thanks Naomi”
“Its 26 years since we stayed in Aldeburgh, how come? We’ve missed so much! Such a relaxing place to stay – cottage is superb – thanks Naomi for the wine and delicious biscuits, they were yummy!”
“The September sunshine warmed us, the rustling reeds at Orford made us feel so tranquil. The cottage was cosy and accommodating. Aldeburgh has a peaceful, unspoilt feel with some excellent opportunities for retail therapy!!”
“Lovely cottage and beautiful location for bracing winter walks along the beach by day and relaxing cosy evenings by the open fire – re-living our youth with “downfall” and “stay alive!”
“This is a great place to spend Christmas – we knew it would be! As ever, we don’t want to leave…”
“Having been a regular visitor at Aldeburgh for the last 40 years this was my first time staying somewhere other than a family cottage. And we loved it!”
“The cottage is exactly what we’d hoped, and exactly what a seaside cottage should be – our 2 year old loved it the minute she stepped our of the car and we have all felt at home here ever since. (in fact, we were hoping for a last minute cancellation so that we could extend our stay – our only disappointment is that we only booked on week!) We will definitely be back!”
