Castle Cottage is located in the historic market town of Eye, and is a delightfully cosy holiday accommodation for couples and small families. The interior has been tastefully decorated in soft, natural colours to create a relaxed, stylish atmosphere - and with a little help from the wood-burning stove, a feeling of warmth and comfort.

Inside this Suffolk self-catering holiday cottage, you’ll find the living room and an open plan kitchen and dining area on the ground floor, all with tiled floors, and on the first floor are two double bedrooms with wooden floors and a bathroom with a hand-held shower attachment. There is a small courtyard garden outside.

Ground floor

Living room: The front door leads into the stylish living room, where two sofas are positioned around the wood burning stove, and shades of cream and brown create an earthy, relaxing atmosphere. There is a flat screen television with inbuilt DVD and Freeview channels.

Kitchen/Dining room: The open plan kitchen and dining area creates an ideal space for sociable cooking and eating, and features beautiful soft pink wooden cupboards to match the four dining chairs and brings country character to the room. There is a funky Smeg Fridge, a Belfast sink, a slimline dishwasher, a range cooker, a kettle and a toaster.

First Floor

Stairs lead up from the living room to a hallway, which leads to the three upstairs rooms.

Bedroom 1: The master bedroom is at the front of the cottage, features a stylish dark wood four-poster double bed and a double wardrobe for storage. The historic beams continue the character of the cottage, and compliment the modern touches within the room to create an elegant feel.

Bedroom 2: The smaller second bedroom also has a dark wood four-poster double bed. The earthy, natural colours in both bedrooms create a subtle feel, ideal for relaxing in.

Bathroom: There is a magnificent free-standing bath with a shower as well as a hand-held shower attachment, a hand basin and a w.c. The olive green wood panels add character to the room and tone in with the stylish theme of the cottage throughout.

Outside: There is a small courtyard garden to the rear of this Suffolk self-catering holiday cottage, a small table and two chairs, and the stone wall is covered with greenery. On road parking is usually available within a minute’s walk of the cottage.

This Suffolk self-catering holiday cottage is situated on the edge of the historic town of Eye, near Diss.  Eye is situated on the River Dove and has a fabulous café, a small supermarket, butchers, post office, newsagent and a deli.  There’s an interesting selection of antique shops to browse and the remains of a small castle to walk around.  There are several good pubs and restaurants a short drive from the village including The Fox and Goose at Fressingfield, and The Swan Inn at Hoxne.

Nearby attractions accessible by car include Bressingham Gardens and Steam Museum (20 mins), the coastal havens of Southwold and Walberswick (30 mins), Minsmere nature reserve (40 mins). 

Sailing enthusiasts can enjoy activities on the Norfolk Broads near the beautiful city of Norwich, or on the estuary of the River Deben.  Flatford Mill for Constable lovers and the Newmarket races are only 40 minutes by car.  Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich are all about 30 minutes away by car and there are many pretty villages in the area to explore during your stay.

This Suffolk self-catering holiday cottage is equipped with underfloor and electric panel heating throughout and a wood-burning stove.  Appliances include a flat screen TV with inbuilt DVD and Freeview channels, Ipod docking station, a Belling stainless steel electric range cooker, a Belfast sink, slimline dishwasher, microwave and a Smeg fridge. The house has tiled flooring downstairs, wooden flooring in the bedrooms and lino in the bathroom.

A travel cot and a high chair are available on request from the owners – please mention it on the booking form.

3. How to pay. When you have filled out your booking form you can choose to pay online by credit or debit card or send a cheque. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking. The balance and a £100 returnable good housekeeping deposit (subject to terms and conditions) are due six weeks before your holiday commences. Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.
