Large holiday cottage in peaceful Orford, surrounded by stunning countryside.

In the historic town of Orford you will find the impressive Bright House. Built 11 years ago with strong Suffolk influence on it’s styling, this large holiday accommodation has plenty of space for the whole family to enjoy, or a group of friends to relax in style.

Entering into the cosy hallway with it’s own wood burning fire, you can make full use of the expansive utility and boot room or head through to the large country kitchen with a stunning deep blue AGA.  Also on this floor is a TV room and another living room, each with wood burning stoves.  Upstairs you will find the master king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom, double and twin bedrooms with shared shower room.  Also on this floor there is the Dormitory. A unique room with four single beds, there is plenty of space in here for children to share or if you need some extra space for your friends to stay.

Entering into the main hall, there is a wood-burning stove to make sure you will always come home to a warm welcome! This leads into the utility room, kitchen and living room.

Kitchen/Dining: This large open plan space has beautiful hand built units with a dark blue AGA.  A central island is perfect for preparing meals. The dining table which seats 10 benefits from windows on two sides and a skylight

TV Room: The kitchen leads through to the TV room that has comfy sofas and a wood burning stove as well as a television with freeview.  With modern décor, you’ll be able to spot the animated influences including a Tintin decoupage table! 

Sitting Room: The large sitting room is a perfect place to relax in the evenings with comfy sofas and a wood-burning stove.  French windows open out onto the suntrap patio.

Utility Room: With a door straight out into the garden, the large utility room is a perfect place to keep your muddy boots.  There is a large chest freezer and a tall fridge.  Off this room is a W.C. with hand basin.

Master Bedroom: The large master bedroom has a king-size bed and views to the front and back of the property, with it’s own en-suite bathroom.

Double Bedroom: A spacious double bedroom with views across the countryside.  Built in wardrobes for storage.

Twin Bedroom: Twin bedroom with views across the countryside. Built in wardrobes for storage.

Extra Bedroom: Nicknamed “The Dormitory”, a truly unique bedroom with four single beds. Perfect for children sharing, lots of space to play up here.  This room also adds a lot of extra capacity for a group of friends!

Shower Room: A modern and spacious shower room with W.C. and hand basin.

Outside: There is almost as much going on outside this property as inside!  With an all weather ping pong table, badminton on the lawn, a trampoline, two patios for catching sun all day long, a built in BBQ area and a fire pit to keep warm on those long summer evenings, you won’t get bored in this garden!  There is a charming “Breeze House” with enough seating for all 10 guests, plenty of candles and a heater to extend al fresco evenings as long as possible.

This large accommodation is situated in the delightful town of Orford which is on the River Ore and boasts an 'English Heritage' Norman castle and a working river quay that serves sailors, fishermen and sightseers. The town has a good choice of places to eat and drink including The Trinity at the Crown and Castle and Kings Head pub, the Butley Oysterage, The Kings Head, The Jolly Sailor, and a café by the quay with lovely views over the river. Across the river is the National Trust's Orford Ness, the site of mysterious research projects in the 1950's and 60's but now a nature reserve.

River trips can be booked from Orford Quay down the river to see the area's famous avocets at the RSPB's Havergate Island. If you are eating in, good food can be purchased in the town from award-winning butchers, Richardson's Smokery, Pinneys and also the Village Stores. For delicious traditional breads and cakes, Pump Street Bakery is just off Market Hill.

All prices include bed linen and towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

This large holiday cottage has three wood burning stoves, an AGA range cooker, Gaggia espresso machine, Bose DAB radio, iPod dock, flat screen TV with freeview channels, dishwasher, two fridges, chest freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

A travel cot and a high chair are available on request at the time of booking.

A well-behaved dog is welcome downstairs. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.

3. How to pay. When you have filled out your booking form you can choose to pay online by credit or debit card or send a cheque. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking. The balance and a £100 returnable good housekeeping deposit (subject to terms and conditions) are due six weeks before your holiday commences. Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.
