With wonderful sea views over East Cliff, this very well specified and stylish apartment for two is fantastic for both weekends and longer stays. It’s been renovated to a very high standard, with lots of little extra finishing touches. It’s just moments away from Southwold’s excellent restaurants, pubs and shops – and of course the sandy beach and promenade, lined with colourful beach huts.
Inside you’ll find a large open plan living area with a bespoke kitchen, a bedroom with a king size bed, and a bathroom with a stylish sunken bath and shower over it.
A small flight of five steps leads up to the front door and access to a hallway, with doors to the main rooms.
Open plan living/dining/kitchen:
Living area: This spacious room has fabulous views over the green at East Cliff and the sea. There’s a huge sofa to snuggle down into with a large glass coffee table in front, a 42” flat screen plasma TV with Freesat channels, a Blu-Ray player and an Ipod docking station. The original Victorian fireplace has a real flame gas fire to relax in front of on winter’s nights.
Dining area: There’s a large light ash wood table, four leather chairs and a sideboard.
Kitchen area: The modern kitchen has an Encore Bushboard work surface and appliances include a Neff electric oven and induction hob, a dishwasher, a fridge with a freezer compartment, a wine fridge and a microwave. A plumbed in Brita Water Filter provides a constant supply of drinking water. (You’ll find a combined washer-dryer machine in the hallway cupboard).
Bedroom: This room has a king size bed with a Healthbed non-allergenic mattress, mircofibre pillows and duvet. A 22” flat screen TV on the wall with Freeview channels, bedside tables, and a fitted wardrobe with drawers and carpet on the floor.
Bathroom: The designer bathroom at this lovely property has a sunken bath with a clever shower that you can turn on and off before you get in the shower – it will let you know when the temperature is just right. There’s a striking modern hand basin and a wall hung w.c. with soft closing lid. The floor and the walls are tiled with high quality travertine tiles and the plinth lights provide a lovely soft glow. At the flick of a switch the underfloor heating will make sure bare feet always feel warm.
Outside: The sandy beach is just moments away, literally just over the green and down some steps to the promenade. The green is a nice spot to sit and read – there’s a public bench looking out to sea. At the bottom of the steps to the right you’ll find Susie’s Beach Cafe, serving pots of tea, freshly ground coffee and delicious bacon rolls, another perfect place to relax in the morning summer sun.
Just around the corner in the other direction is the High St and Market Place with its many shops, Adnams Pubs and restaurants. No distance at all to have to carry home shopping or walk home after an evening out. On road parking is often available in nearby side streets.
The sandy beach is adorned with a string of colourful beach huts that lead along to Southwold Pier at one end and towards Southwold Harbour at the other end. Southwold boasts several excellent pubs and restaurants as well as a range of independent shops and galleries.
There is a pretty walk over the Common to the harbour and over a footbridge to the picture-postcard village of Walberswick, home to two good pubs (The Anchor and The Bell) and a long sandy beach. In the summer months you can come back on the ferry which will row you across the river.
Fresh fish can be bought from the fish huts along the harbour. Southwold is home to the Adnams Brewery and the town’s excellent pubs include one of our personal favourites, The Lord Nelson which is just around the corner from the property and where you can try a range of Adnams bitters.
All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.
This raised ground floor apartment is equipped with gas central heating. Appliances include two flat screen TVs with Freeview channels, Blu-Ray player, WiFi, Ipod docking station, induction hob and electric oven, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, Brita water filter, washer-dryer machine and a microwave.
There is dark walnut laminate flooring in the open plan living space and hallway, carpet in the bedroom and travertine tiles in the bathroom.
Sorry, no smoking, pets, children or unaccompanied teenagers. Please note this property does not accept babies, and there is no travel cot or high chair available.

Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.
