The Bakery Apartment, Aldeburgh

Sleeps 6 availabilitybook online

About the property

This light-filled apartment spread over two floors is hidden away above Aldeburgh's bakery shop and cafe on Aldeburgh's High Street, so you won’t have to stroll far for those breakfast croissants and cappuccinos! There’s a patio garden too, with a table and chairs.

Steps up to the main entrance lead into 1st floor entrance lobby going through to the dining room. The dining room has a large refectory-style oak table with brightly coloured chairs seating six, mini halogen lights above and a large American-style stainless steel fridge-freezer. This room was once as a flour store for the bakery which has been on the site since 1953.

The dining room leads straight through to the modern kitchen which has a good range of appliances including a Smeg range cooker, dishwasher, and Dualit toaster.

Beyond the kitchen there's a hallway to an extra-large living room with a stripped pine door, laminate floor and large wool rug. It's a double-size room that's big enough for children to watch dvds on a big sofa at one end while rest of your group catches up and relaxes on the sofas at the other end. It still has an original fireplace although this is not in use.

Back in the hallway is a handy cloakroom (w.c. and sink) and two staircases, one up to the bedrooms and the other down to a ground floor entrance.

On the 2nd floor are 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom:

Bedroom 1: This large room has a Queen-size Habitat bed and bedside tables, and large pine chest of drawers and wardrobe. There's an original fireplace (not in use) with a chimney breast of soft Suffolk red bricks.

Bedroom 2: This good-sized twin room has silver colour bedframes with Habitat bedside tables, blue throws and cushions, along with a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.

Bedroom 3: Although this room is small, it has a handy set of bunk beds with a double on the bottom and a single on top. The double converts into a sofa when not being used as a bed. There is also an open-style wardrobe and a bedside unit.

The bedrooms share a family bathroom that has a bath with a shower over, a sink, and w.c.

All the rooms in this apartment benefit from large windows and fresh décor.

Outside there’s a good sized patio garden at the rear of the property with garden furniture and a BBQ.

On-road parking is usually available on The Terrace nearby.
