Down a small driveway, you will find this recently renovated fisherman’s cottage (one of only 3 original cottages in Thorpeness before it was developed by the Ogilvie family into a holiday village). 1 Beach Cottage has been modernised and decorated to a very high standard with all the fixtures you need to relax in the charming village of Thorpeness.
Three bedrooms provide plenty of space for the whole family in 1 Beach Cottage. The cottage has a lawned garden, a summer house to enjoy long summer evenings and a wood burning stove to relax on cold winter ones. A handmade kitchen and dining space for six makes this the perfect property for a family getaway or a holiday with friends.

Thorpeness is a mile and a half along the beach from Aldeburgh and is a charming holiday village largely designed by the Scottish playwright and barrister Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie a century ago. He decided to create an idyllic model seaside village, inspired by the writings of JM Barrie, author of Peter Pan.
The village has a Meare (local for lake) and its several miles of shallow water can be explored in the summer time by rowing boat. A short walk from the cottage is the Thorpeness Country Club and here the tennis courts and games rooms are often available during half term holidays as well as the summer months.
Also close by is the Thorpeness heathland golf course. The area is ideal for cycling and walking, both along the coast and inland countryside. It's a short walk to the famous 'House in the Clouds' and Thorpeness windmill, both close to the Meare. There are a number of shops and eateries including The Dolphin Inn, and a popular café next to the Meare (opening times vary according to the time of year).
All prices include bed linen, towels, gas and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start. The property is equipped with gas central heating throughout, 32 inch flat-screen TV, freesat, iPod docking station, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and microwave. A travel cot and a high chair are available.
